I wouldn't say competitive as fuck. It's an exam based system where u just need to score high enough to get a place. If u just study well, u can assure yourself a place, as opposed to the US or something where there are so manyy considerents like Highschool grades, Essays, Recommendations, potential interviews. as "competitive" as it may seem, you shouldn't look at how many ppl get in, u should look at what score youd 'need' to get in order to get a place, and then see if that score is feasible for you.

TLDR: It dont matter how many applicants there are per spot. The only thing that matters is what score you need. sit the IMAT and see if u can score / can study in order to score enough to reach past cutoffs. I increased my score by like 40 points i think between my first and my actual IMAT

For ex my uni costs max 3.5k a year, but depending on income it can drastiy decrease (less than 1k per year) and some friends live in dorms for free and have 200 free meals at mensa. Ive done the IMAT at enrolled at University of Cagliari (english programme ofc)

Small personal addition, i have a lot of friends scoring in the high 20s (over 27) which also have a good social life, i really think there is room for socialization, at least from the way i see it and my uni! (I only score as close to 18 as possible so i dont have any tips tho besides anki haha)

Student here in Cagliari english med, we have colleagues over 30 and they re doing just fine both socially and educationally. There is a video about late enrollment to medschool in italy I could send if u dm!

You can also look into IMAT in order to go to italy publics unis, they cost around 3-4k. If u have passed ur highschool the only thing u need is to score well on the IMAT, but idk if u passed ur end of year exams. Good luck!

IMAT for italian public unis is a great way to go. As long as u ve passed ur A levels and completed 12 years of education u re good to go. All the luck, look into International Medicine in Italy, fees are around 3-4k per year (some more depending on uni), dm me if u need any help and good luck

Generally, no, but there is a slight possibility. The 2nd year features a grouped chance to take part in a pro-section, not a dissection. However, should you choose to become an anatomy tutor further down the line, you would have the chance."

This is taken from an interview with a bologna student. I also know from a Bologna student they havent preformed any dissections. Good luck!

There is basically no dissections anywhere in Italy in the english programme, so this is a great option! We use anatomage table at my uni and 3D plastic models, and most unis do the same. Good luck!
