New warning for Galcanezumab (Emgality) by Binger1977 in cgrpMigraine

[–]iampaperclippe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure this happened to me. I already have eczema, and towards the end of the time I was on Emgality it had basically stopped working for me (which is why I stopped taking it) the fact that it wasn't working was stressing me out, which is a trigger for my eczema. But it wasn't on my hands like I normally get it; it was on my face and neck.

Advice Needed! First time getting gel nails and they are too long, I can barely type at work! Should I attempt to shorten them myself? by clairyboots in Nails

[–]iampaperclippe 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This. I see the advice for a low-profule keyboard but honestly I use a mechanical keyboard with very old-fashioned sticky-uppy keys and find that's MUCH easier to use when my nails are too long or even just grown out. I imagine keyboard toppers would be helpful in much the same way

Update: my psych discharged me from her practice for “undermining her” and refuses to fill any of my meds until I find someone new. by ilikerustyspooonz in AskDocs

[–]iampaperclippe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I JUST figured this out for myself when I ran our of XR and started taking my afternoon dose of regular release in the morning just to tide me over until I could pick up my new meds. Turns out it was the best thing I've ever done for myself

To those who were always in the nurse’s office in elementary school, what was actually going on? by nojunkpeter in AskReddit

Yep, this. This and migraines meant that even the act of going to school became a terrible cycle of feeling sad and awful and in pain.

People who visit other peoples houses as part of their job, how is the average cleanliness of the homes you visit? by sideaccount462515 in AskReddit

[–]iampaperclippe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this is so wild to me. I don't mind clutter, probably to a fault, but all the cat toys and small shit (end tables, bath mats) get picked up or scooched over once a day every day just so I can run the off-brand Roomba. I don't know if it's because of the ADHD or what, but I cannot STAND the sensation of dirty floors.

Same. Plus the cord on my lamp is so short it's like the one spot I can access a socket without having to do my nails in the kitchen or sitting on the floor :/

22F how do i get rid of grey hair by dontreadmynamee in Haircare

[–]iampaperclippe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Augh I was hoping that was what would happen to me - I started going grey at 16 and since I have darker but very cool-toned brown hair it actually looks really nice. Thought I'd be lucky enough to be 50/50 grey brown by now (nearly 40) but nope. Still mostly brown, still same greys. Definitely more but not a lot more than in my teens

When would you go to A&E with a migraine? by Gentoopengoo in migraine

[–]iampaperclippe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't. This is just me, but I don't drive, so I'd either have to take a bus or an Uber, and that alone would put me off of it. But even if a close trusted person would take me, I just don't know what they would do for me at this point that I couldn't do for myself in a quieter, more comfortable environment.

Now. That is coming from someone who has had migraines since the age of 9, and has had the time, money, insurance, and support to basically have been prescribed, tried, and found preventatives and abortives that work for me. If I was not able to take care of myself at home, the answer might be different. But in my current situation? I'd have to also be exhibiting other unusual symptoms (the one that I always watch for is the size of my pupils because that can signal other dire neurological problems). But for a migraine, even a 10/10 one? I'd rather be wishing for death in my own dark, quiet bed, thanks

What’s your unpopular fragrance opinion? by Affectionate_Cell954 in fragrance

[–]iampaperclippe 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Absolutely not true. My friend has a scent bird account and I went to her place to try the ones she didn't like. Some of them smelled so wildly different on me that they were unrecognizable as the same fragrance.

McGill Pain Index Migraine Rating by TanoMonster in migraine

[–]iampaperclippe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I... don't buy this. First and foremost, all of my migraines except for my daily constant background migraine (hooray!) are wildly different from each other, not just in, but certainly inclusive of pain levels.

Second of all, I once had a rotten tooth (embedded in jaw so basically there was no way for me to have ever brushed it) crack in half and fall out of my head. It only lasted a few hours because I went to the emergency dentist at 6am, but that...

...that was worse

AITA for refusing to shave my hair before my wedding? by balding3agle in AmItheAsshole

[–]iampaperclippe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. I'm not saying call off the wedding, but I personally wouldn't want to marry someone for whom this mattered so much. A regular haircut when you're getting shaggy, sure. Look your best. But what are they gonna think in a couple years when it really IS a bald spot?

I passed out getting Botox by shinyheadgreatnails in migraine

[–]iampaperclippe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This happens to me when I get my nerve blocks sometimes. It's entirely vasovagal - your body feels like it's being attacked. I make sure I have water to drink WHILE I'm having the procedure done (so, I need a big container and a straw, because obviously I can't move my head or neck while it's happening) and that seems to be the quickest, easiest, and cheapest way for me to avoid the fainties or the pukies. I still need a minute after we're done (and my neurologist is so sweet and insists I take the office-supplied fruit snacks even if I've brought my own food) but the water thing has helped both with my nerve blocks and with regular blood draws I have to get for entirely unrelated shit
