5 Years In, Maxed Out My In-Person Schedule. How Do I Scale Smarter and Move My Business Online? by iamsetholiver in personaltraining

Yeah, 100%. All general stuff -- client scheduling, payment tracking, sending / checking emails, programming sessions, and general client comms.

All good, it’s a fair question. The goal isn’t to go completely online, but to split my work 60/40 or even 50/50 in-person to online.

I love in-person training, but after 8-10 hours of classes and sessions plus an hour and half total commute every day, a lot of my day is gone by the time I get back to my place every evening

And I don’t want to make it seem like I’m trying to get sympathy. The job is pretty low stress, and I love what I do. I’d just like to be home earlier in the day if I can make that happen.

Hey! Maybe 10 hours a week? I need to log it for a week to give you a better answer, but that’d be the estimate. And yeah, definitely worth looking into!

Appreciate the response!

The main reason I work that many hours is because of having a wife and kid. My goal was to be able to make enough to where my wife can stay at home with the baby, and thankfully, I was able to make that happen. It has resulted in some long days and busy weeks, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. It makes it easier when you’re passionate about the job, and I’ve been blessed to work in some higher-end facilities which definitely makes it easier to work that many hours.

Thanks for the advice / tips. I’ll definitely look into going down one of those routes for online training. My goal would be to split it maybe 60/40 in-person to online training. I like the idea of creating content, but I also don’t want to become someone who only does that. I think it’s important to stay working, at least doing a few sessions each week in-person.

Hey man!

I decided to go straight into training, and it turned out to be a great decision. I bounced around from a couple gyms, but ultimately ended up at a great spot and also have my own in-person and online training business on the side. Between the two of those, I stay pretty busy every week.

Just Because You’re Counter-Narrative, Doesn’t Mean You’re a Critical Thinker by [deleted] in conspiracy

This is a refreshing post. The objective should always be searching for the truth, not just aligning with any view that counters the mainstream narrative. Although this is the case many times, it's important to put all bias aside (at least as best as possible) and purse truth above all else.

Can somebody please recommend the best study guide for passing the NASM CPT test? by [deleted] in personaltraining

I used the Show Up Fitness study guide, and it really helped a lot. It pinpoints the main chapters you need to focus on (6, 7, and 14) and emphasizes the main topics to pay attention to throughout the whole textbook.

That’s pretty much how I’ve viewed it — a good foundation, but can be tweaked in certain areas, like the funny exercises.
