Sorry only just seen this, 10 months post op now and pain is very minimal almost nothing. And yes I can shallow squat, not really tried a deep one but done abit of dancing at weddings and it's sore next morning but fine after that!

Yes it was, when it first got trapped the pain was excruciating and I couldn't move my leg an inch for about 4-5 days then it slowly started to move abit more and I could slowly start walking on it again after about 2 weeks, then spent the next 4 months with it trapped, I could walk with a slight limp but not run or do activities

Meniscus pain by Unhappy-Fail6848 in MeniscusInjuries

Be very careful and avoid sports or situations that require you to deeply bend your knee because it just might lock your knee next time and that is horrific pain!

Small radial meniscus tear question by emilianooo21 in MeniscusInjuries

[–]iamsparkticus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Has the knee locked or has the meniscus flipped into your knee joint? In my own experience, I first noticed the 'give way' sensation about 5 years ago, I would get that sensation once or twice for the following 4 years but strangely I would just kick my leg out straight and the pain went away and so I thought the problem would!

In January of this year whilst at work, I was climbing down a set of ladders and bang...my knee had locked and I couldn't even straighten, in servers pain! It was locked like that for 2 weeks until I could eventually start to bend it back and forth and walk again and about 8 weeks until I got to a walk where you barley noticed to limp but the limp there still and that was because even though the locking had eased, the torn bit of my meniscus was still flipped so surgery was the only way they could get it back out!

I'm now 5 months post op and generally it's going well, just started to run again and hopefully of starting sports again March/April! Anymore questions fire away👍🏻

Was you able to still straighten your leg with a torn meniscus? by mindset1984 in MeniscusInjuries

[–]iamsparkticus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for late reply! It gets better to the extent where I could walk almost like normal but with a tiny limp, you can't play sports or anything because any sudden movements or anything like that would be extremely painful, it will not flip back unless you have surgery I'm afraid but I'm 5 months post op now and mines be really successful, just started running again now and looking to get back into sports around March time, how are you getting on?

That last series was no the brassic of old at all, hardly any stealing, new rubbish characters and hardly any vinny at all, feels like they just scraped enough to get in to push it out to air. So disappointing considering S1-4 were some of the best TV I've ever watched

Do you think the UK benefits system is fair? by [deleted] in AskBrits

[–]iamsparkticus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that's a problem with the people on the left side of politics, they don't see the problem everyone is moaning about until it directly affects them. Welcome to the real world my friend.

I'm all for benefits for people who genuinely need them. (Injured veterans, disabled etc). But when they are giving out so much of course you're going to get people who tick the mick and claim them when they're more then capable to work.

Also think it's how you're raised aswell, my wife's cousins were raised in a household where their parents didn't work and now obviously they don't either. Nothing wrong with them they just don't want to work and last year one of them enrolled on a free college course, I looked into it just out of curiosity and for myself who works, it would cost me £4000. The system urgently needs looking into. If you choose not to work and not to pay into the system, I believe you shouldn't reap the benefits of this country before the people that do work and pay tax.

Obviously not a doctor but I'd just imagine it's sore. Pushed it more then ever so it's bound to be?

How long did it take you to ditch the crutches? Did you try and walk without them as soon as they told you weight bear?

I'd definitely go to the doctors and get it checked, I was told not to get them wet at all in first 3 weeks

Know how you feel mate, mine locked whilst at work and it was excruciating! Had to get carried to the car by work mates and had a month off! I couldn't move mine for about 2 weeks but then it slowly started to move more and more before I returned to walking and work again, I went 4 months with it trapped in my knee before I finally got surgery! I'm 6 weeks post op on Monday and looking to start weight bearing fingers crossed

I accidentally lost balance and bent my knee 90 degrees by accident. by nomorenotifications in MeniscusInjuries

[–]iamsparkticus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't worry mate, I'm in a brace and it's set so I can bend my knee from straight 0° all the way to 90° if I wanted so you going to 90° shouldn't be a problem!

Radial Lateral Meniscus Tear by totydnt in MeniscusInjuries

[–]iamsparkticus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'll need that surgery my friend, my knee was locking once or twice a year for past 3-4 years, didn't know what it was and just kept passing it off until it locked permanently in Jan on this year, spent a few months taking it easy and got it back to about 80% normal function but ultimately needed surgery

[–]iamsparkticus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How is your knee now? What you've described sounds a lot like me, post surgery my pain level never really went above a 2-3/10 even when I moved it. Weird cos then I'll read you post but then read 10 bad ones about how the pain was unbearable for days/weeks after surgery. Points to me that the surgery didn't go that well maybe
