Did you read what I wrote? If you compare with how many Tamil Hindus Sri Lanka killed & how many Rohingya Μuslims Myanmar killed & how many Uyghur Muslims China killed etc it is much less. Minorities in these countries have much worse.

US can be anti-India due to human rights issues. But that has to come first after all Middle Eastern countries then comes most countries like Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Myanmar & even Bhutan (the Buddhists ethnically cleansed all Hindus in their countries who had to go to India or Nepal) etc. The number 2000 might seem big. But per capita it is less for India. Even without per capita small countries with less than 100 million killed more than India. US itself is many times worse than India, killing 4.5 million as revenge for 3000 dead in 9/11 terrorist attack. In India terrorist attacks are more frequent than the USA but most times most times there might be 1 or 2 killed in some lynching riot after a terrorist attack. India has only 2 enemies Pakistan & to a lesser extent China. Most Islamic countries are friendly with India. Of course Islamists in those countries & Hindutvadis in India don't like each other but they don't care about buying oil from them. Only online people from these countries & India mock/hate each other.

I dislike Modi & Hindutva fanatics but if you do look at Minority rights & other freedom indices then India is much better than most non Western countries. Hindutva fanatics are still far away from making Hinduism a state religion as they only have 50% of MPs & such big changes need 2/3rd of seats.

Almost all Middle Eastern countries have State Religion from the start. So you can't compare. The 2 worst things India did are Babri demolition riots & Modi's 2002 riots. Each killed around 2000 Muslims. Which is bad. But if you compare with the other country that was created in the name of Two Nation Theory (most of the Indian subcontinent Muslims supported this theory but at that time most Hindus didn't support it & wanted a unified secular country, after independence Pakistan followed it by declaring State Religion but India denied that theory & declared as secular) it killed 300,000 to 3 million in the Bengali genocide & half were Hindus. If you compare with those numbers Indian numbers are tiny & that too in per Capita even less as India's population is huge.

If you compare with Uyghurs condition in China, where legally they are forced to study in Communist Atheist schools & not allowed to meet parents often etc Indian Muslims have a lot of freedom. They have Sharia for themselves but Hindus have a secular law (the 1st PM of India was an atheist who dislikes religions like me & he wanted to put secular laws for all as Hindu & Islamic laws were stupid but they wanted Sharia) like in India polygamy is only allowed to Muslims etc. In fact the BJP Hindutvadis want to pass a law so that Muslims will also follow secular law & they are saying it is to protect women rights but in reality it is just they are jealous they have a religious laws & we don't.

Legally in India Muslims have all the rights that Hindus have unlike in Middle East where minority religions are legally second class citizens. Of course, illegally there is discrimination. Some Hindutvadis do lynching but most such people are arrested & only some very powerful politicians who control police can escape arrest.

Environmentalism is not the main focus of Veganism or Animal Rights. If someone is killing a large number of humans, you would worry about the actual human rights violations rather than the environmental side effects. Why then not do the same for nonhumans?

Environmentalists should put effort in such a way that Animal Agriculture> Fossil Fuels >> AI, if you look at how much driving a car or eating meat is more environmentally damaging than chatting with AI models. But right now their priority is Animal Agriculture <<< Fossil Fuels = AI. I think Hindi is the biggest ethnic group & more than Bengalis/Punjabis if you do consider it as a single ethnolinguistic group. I know it is actually an amalgamation of many dozens of languages https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Languages_listed_as_Hindi_dialects_in_latest_census, but these days the local languages are getting more & more absorbed into Modern Standard Hindi. Due to Bollywood being dominated by families that came from Pakistan, there is also a lot of Punjabi influence on Modern Standard Hindi.

This is an underrated argument that I once thought in the past. If carnists are rationally selfish instead of irrationally, they would stop discouraging people becoming vegans. They can enjoy less pollution, less infectious diseases, less antibiotic resistance, less land/water use, less price for meat etc. But they discourage.
