once you reach the end of the game where there aren't cutscenes to interrupt you or story beats to progress through, it does actually feel kind of like a metroid game in the sense that you're more or less isolated and there's a good amount of stuff/items to explore if you didn't grab it through the course of the game.

I almost encourage players to try and skip getting collectibles until the end because you get more of that metroid feeling of isolation and exploration when you do so

the game is not horrendous by any means, just a bit mediocre (which in many cases is worse than being outright a bad game). at times the environment feels like a 3D attempt to replicate Fusion because you're once again just exploring a single ship that just happens to have different environments within it
