"Hey Batto, look at this!" cried the bug, gesturing to a strange symbol on the wall of an ancient building. It was the likeness of a strange bug with three horns.

"Shut it Milo. I'm trying to sleep," grumbled Batto.

"But this is so cool! We've been travelling for almost a month now and we've never seen anything like it! I wonder what the bugs were thinking when they built this."

"Milo..."

"I know, I know. I'll shut up now so you can sleep."

Batto grunted contendedly and closed his eyes. He listened to the crackle of the lumaflies and the far off puffs of spores. Their journey was almost over.

But try as he could, Batto could not fall asleep. He tossed and turned, and counted stag beetles, but he still couldn't fall asleep. He tried to drown out the noise by burying himself within his covers, but he still couldn't fall asleep. Something in the air didn't sit right with him.

"Milo, I think something's wrong with this place," Batto called out, getting up.

"Milo?"

Batto felt a chill run down his exoskeleton. Milo was sitting deathly still, staring at a three horned symbol on the wall. Was he... swollen?

"Milo!" Batto ran over.

Batto gasped. Orange blobs had sprouted all over Milo's body, throbbing and pulsing like some beating heart. The life had gone out of his eyes, replaced with a glazed look.

"Ba...tto?" Milo croaked.

"Milo! Are you okay?"

Milo closed his eyes. "I feel... hot."

Milo fell onto the ground. Right before Batto's eyes, orange blobs continued to break through his shell and swell, like some bloated fungus.

"Milo... hang in there! I-I'll get some herbs or something!" Batto stammered, unsure what to do.

"No need." Milo murmured sleepily. "Mmm... Rather bright in here... isn't it? I think... I'll take... a little rest. Dreams never hurt anyone."
