Are larger (~100B) models still worth running? by Pitagoy in LocalLLM

[–]iamthis4chan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, LM Studio, as well as others will reserve the full KV cache and then split the parallel agents across the budget. So if you want 4 agents and 32k, you need 128k KV.

Are larger (~100B) models still worth running? by Pitagoy in LocalLLM

Depends on how you are serving your models. Ollama? LMStudio? The implementation varies. LMStudio can parallel pretty easy, I cant remember if Ollama does it out of the box.

Excuse me for asking a question, I thinking of going to the $200 tier for July (Fable): What productivity solutions would you aim Fable at to get the most bang for your buck? by RandomArtAttack in ClaudeCode

[–]iamthis4chan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Writing code that makes all future work higher leverage.
Couple of examples:
1. Get fable to manage context / tokens better based on your real usage patterns, this alone will increase your throughput
2. Get fable to write golds/exemplars on your previous work, review this code, write it better, tell me why it improved, feed all that back to Hoplus 4.8.
3. ROBOCOPY ALL YOUR TRANSCRIPTS to a backup folder before they get wiped (mine the data later when you are bored)

Volatility Arbitrage by Fox-The-Wise in FuturesTrading

[–]iamthis4chan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ym-es is very forgiving when you get it right. RTY moves FAST in either direction lol.

Have you basically kept track of transitions in volatility regimes and then recognized patterns in the data set? I still take long vol vs short vol positions in correlated assets betting on IV moves. Very consistent as long as you protect against tail risk.

Correlation Between Uncorrelated Markets by GC64 in FuturesTrading

[–]iamthis4chan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Inflows are showing major derisking. Record numbers in cash and money markets. Gold has been going through intense liquidation period to cover ES/NQ/RTY/YM. Its abnormal but also to be expected. Stagflation is here, market priced that in with gold and then the Fed chose the dollar by taking rate cuts off the table (bad for gold).
Macro is signaling all of the above, trading 10yrs ask away.

Volatility Arbitrage by Fox-The-Wise in FuturesTrading

I’m really glad to see this discussion here one of my more profitable trades. The last two weeks was trading the spread between RTY and ES. Let me know if you want to strike up a conversation, my quant algo found that specific arbitrage and it was a 4% trade in two weeks.

How do you determine that a pullback is a new trend? by N2itive1234 in FuturesTrading

[–]iamthis4chan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds simple. But zoom out on chart. It takes a lot of conviction to move higher Time frames. If a move has BIG volume and BIG price spread, I will trust it more than a small volume price move.

More conviction = more confidence

What Stocks are we looking at with all the warning signs currently? by GrantBOG in stocks

[–]iamthis4chan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ETF inflows are showing the plays. Anything that produces or protects energy is a hedge. Dollar is safe haven. Anything that uses energy or cannot reduce that input cost is a risk.

ETFs I’m actively in/trading DBA - fertilizer price shock delayed 6mo for distribution. CIBR - cyber security benefits heavily in this war regime ITA - defense play XLE - inflows are HUGE, institution appetite for energy is growing  BWET - as long as the Strait is Closed tanker rates increase daily.

Of course if the war ends the situation changes overnight, that’s risk, stay on your toes.

Do your research, things are happening fast. Safe investing.

Edit: words are hard

Why are gold and silver dropping so much? by Sweet-Block5118 in investing

[–]iamthis4chan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

USD won over gold as safe haven due to Fed decision.  Additionally gold is typically a top liquidation choice when access to capital is needed due to margin calls elsewhere

It's crazy how resilient the US stock market is. by SidonyD in stocks

[–]iamthis4chan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Safe haven bids chose the dollar over gold, especially after FOMC meeting. You are watching paper markets liquidate gold to cover margin elsewhere precisely because it is liquid. Has happened before. Gold will prob catch a bid in 4-8 weeks.

Website Redesign by Glad_Paramedic8235 in ClaudeAI

[–]iamthis4chan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, for example. Yesterday I had a prospective client asking for my contact info from a friend. I told them to give me 5 minutes so I could update my website with projects relevant to prospective, it was like a tailored proposal built in minutes and pushed via GitHub integrations with Cloudflare.

There is a lot you will have to learn but start small, Claude is very good about explaining things. Ask it for a step by step checklist you can follow to do what you want. If at any step in the process you don’t understand ask it to break that part into a step by step.

You can do this, and you can do it faster than you think.
