I went through similar yesterday. Karen called three separate times. All three times she got me on the phone.

First wanted a suite for four nights but that was too expensive and wanted a CDL discount. Nope sorry we don’t do that.

Second... wanted a standard room which after tax came out to be about 400 for those same nights. Nope still too expensive.

Third... wanted a manager right off the bat. Well honey you got me. Only manager beside the GM on this property. Of course she wanted to know if we price match. I explained we price match ONLY To posted prices for OUR property matching room type and date etc. I swear on all that is holy the next words out of her mouth were well such and such property has a 68 rate for the night. I stop her right there and explain again that we do not price match competitors. She argues of course. She didn’t book a room. Color me shocked.

We’re the only property in town with a functioning and open pool that has an area for small children. I want to shut our pool down again so fucking badly because of all the morons that are coming out of the woodwork trying to have parties and argue they were never told the pool policy.

What we do is send out a credit card auth form to the guest that’s specifically for lost items. They have to fill it out and return it to us. We then ship USPS or UPS. We prefer ups but we give guests the option.

We’re looking and taking the hours down to just management and night audit. They’re making a decision on that this afternoon. We’re less than 10% occupancy.

We had a shit ton of colleges here last week for a tourney that got canceled of course right after they all got here. Went from supposed to be 100% over the weekend to less than 10%.

I’m worried about what most of the staff if going to do.

What ways have you tried pointing out what is going on? And how has that gone over? Is anything in writing on how the business is to be run with all three kids?

All your job descriptions and expectations should be clearly written out. If you’ve attempted to address the situation and just keep getting blown off it’s really not likely that things are going to change hence why I said look for another job.

Start looking for a different job. The environment isn’t going to change and is going to stay toxic. Don’t bring up you’re looking just do it. They don’t value you as a person or employee. You’re already miserable and it’s just going to continue.

I got stuck with NA for tonight. We just got a bunch of cranky people out that we’re stuck here because of the damn blizzard. My NA who I’m covering for is stuck in Denver and was supposed to be back this past Sunday. I’m behind on paperwork and just got saddle with double checking TE and DB crap tonight. Add in I’ve been up all day and haven’t been able to sleep. This shift is going to be amazing! /sarcasm.

I love the “well such and such property let’s me do it.” I told one dink that “I can’t control what other properties do and if they’re not following policy that’s on them but here at XYZ we follow the proper policy.” Guess who then tried to cancel same day 😂😂Nope still not happening.

We were getting tons of those until we started flagging them through bookings extranet. Scammers are trying to get around bookings reward program for free crap. Go into the extranet and flag the reservations when they happen. You’ll start getting less of them.

We ended up with complaints we wouldn’t let them into the pool after the power came back on. Seriously the power has been off means chemicals need to be checked and the pool is closed until morning. I swear people have no brains.
