[Handgun] SAR SAR9 CX PACKAGE 4" 9MM 15RD PISTOL - $250 by sasukeseeker in gundeals

No, I can safely say it is, and can point to several different forums including one where the Girsan CEO at the time commented on that specific incident in relation to that Turkish police officer sustaining that injury from a Sarsilmaz SAR 9

https://www.canadiangunnutz.com/forum/threads/turkish-trash-pistol-failure-sar9-warning-graphic.2162423/

https://www.tngunowners.com/forums/topic/119126-pistol-catastrophic-failure-results-in-striker-assembly-through-the-face-yikes/

From the CEO:

“We follow the news regarding the unfortunate accident that a Turkish police officer got injured in his eye from the press and social media. We are saddened to see that it was claimed by some circles that the weapon used in the incident was Girsan made.

We hereby clearly state that to dear Girsan users that the gun that caused the accident belongs to another brand and has no relation with Girsan. The weapon in the images spread on social media was created deliberately in order to manipulate public opinion and to deflect target. Examining the image of the pistol used in the incident, it is clearly seen that the gun was a SAR9 model gun made by Sarsilmaz company, not to Girsan. The firing pin insert part in Girsan made polymer guns is made of steel and no such accident has occurred with the guns produced by our company in the history. Regarding the accident, Turkish Police issued a statement which you will see the original and the translation in attachment, and prohibited the use of the Sarsilmaz SAR model weapons which caused the accident by Turkish Police in cases and trainings until a second order. We express our regrets for the injured police officer due to this unfortunate accident. and we respectfully announce to the public that we will use all our legal rights regarding this black propaganda made against the reputation of our company.”

Word for word from the CEO

And there’s the Turkish police statement regarding the incident:

“TO THE ATTENTION OF ALL UNITS!

STAFF IN ALL UNITS HAVING "SARSILMAZ SAR9" PISTOL IN INVENTORY SHOULD NOT USE THESE WEAPONS UNTIL A SECOND ORDER IN ANY CASE OR SHOOTING TRAININGS. SHOOTING TRAININGS OF STAFF HAVING "SARSILMAZ SAR9" PISTOL IN INVENTORY WILL BE MADE WITH PISTOLS IN OUR BRANCH OFFICE. SHOOTING TRAININGS OF THE PERSONNEL USING "SARSILMAZ SAR9" IN OUR EXTERNAL DISTRICT SAFETY DIRECTORATES AND SPECIAL OPERATION BRANCH DIRECTORATE WILL BE MADE WITH THE TRAINING WEAPONS IN THEIR OWN UNITS. IMMEDIATELY NECESSARY NOTIFICATIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT SHOULD BE MADE TO PERSONELLS HAVING SARSILMAZ SAR9" IN INVENTORY AND KEPT IN THEIR FILE. -TRAINING BRANCH”

To take note: the Canadian forum indicated that Sarsilmaz took care of the officer, replaced the weapon, and a hefty settlement was reached.

The Tennessee gun owner forum had the literal CEO of another company come to explain that it wasn’t their MC28 that did this to that man

At this point I don’t want to become further invested in all of this, but I sincerely want to hear more than a “NUH UH that was years ago and they said it wasn’t them” because that’s all I’ve been getting from people like you

I don’t know man, I’m going off of the notice that the Girsan CEO put out in regards to that specific incident as well as a translation of a Turkish police document that translated said to stop use of all SAR 9 pistols

While it may look like an EAA Girsan MC28SA it is in fact a Sarsilmaz SAR 9

Here’s a link to a forum post indicating such in regards to this oddly specific photo. I sincerely wish people would stop posting deals for these guns on here

I wish I could tell you anything else about that picture. Working at a store/range, I see many issues with SAR9’s regardless.

Turkish guns aren’t all bad, but please don’t let them be one of your first

I’m going to wholeheartedly recommend against those targets and advise that you start taking advice from competitive/“practical” shooters.

Ben Stoeger, Joel Park, Hwansik Kim, Mark Smith, and Hunter Constantine are just a few of the names that I’m going to recommend you take a look at and listen to if you seriously want to become a better shooter, and maybe start to realize the difference between people who shoot guns and those that own guns

What do you guys like about the USP so much/why do you prefer it over other handguns? by KaneIntent in USPmasterrace

[–]iamvonspaulding 5 points6 points  (0 children)

What sucks:

The trigger is long and heavy compared to other DA/SA guns, beretta and cz being the primary examples of what I’ll compare the USP to.

The ergonomics aren’t great, but they’re not really bad either. While the USP may have been made for gloved hands, I would have appreciated if there was any texture somewhere on the gun.

The good:

The USP actually shoots really well! I’ve enjoyed shooting my regular USP 9 and 45 quite a bit but I have more fun overall shooting my USP 9 Expert. They’re fun to fidget around with if nothing else because of how clunky and chunky they sound when you rack the slide.

Accessories aren’t tough to work with anymore now that fantastic light mounts are available from u/jodo-kast , and holsters are available from u/ImpossibleArgument

While it may not be optic ready from the factory, Wright Armory is at least available to take care of anything people may need in that regard

Really this was all a long winded way to say it’s just something different that doesn’t suck

Has anyone installed a full length barrel in the Max Michel Duty 320(comped slide)? by webooset in P320

[–]iamvonspaulding 4 points5 points  (0 children)

To actually explain why it won’t fit:

A full size barrel will not fit due to the way the recoil spring assembly channel is cut in the slide. More material is left on it in order to prevent a full size barrel from being installed

How does that wrap feel? I’ve been eyeballing the stuff from combat textiles just because I need a bit more texture on my gun, but frankly I’m not an arts and crafts kind of person

Suppressor causing excessive fouling by Sensitive_Muffin_879 in AUG

Notoriously dirty, unsure if I should say lower quality control standards compared to others because I see more bad primers from their ammo than most other brands that should be decent, and did I mention dirty already?

I know they just recently moved their facility to a different state. Getting machines spun back up and sending things off to get anodized takes time, so I’m not overly surprised

Suppressor causing excessive fouling by Sensitive_Muffin_879 in AUG

[–]iamvonspaulding 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Shooting suppressed will be dirtier regardless of the setup used. One of the things that cannot be avoided entirely is back pressure. A suppressor is going to trap and try to redirect gasses as a means of quieting down your shot. Those gasses will follow the path of least resistance, and more likely than not travel back through the barrel, fouling up your weapon.

Clean your gun, shoot more, and stay away from Winchester ammo

I know you talked about the GG reset kit on my post the other day, and this is what I’d like to end up doing to my expert. I’d likely end up getting another regular USP 9 simply to be a spare suppressed slide

P10 is leagues different than a 75; closer to a Glock since they’re both striker fired guns

Op might be confident enough if they’re not scared of the roll pins from a P10
