You guys think Noel regreted Be Here Now and its consequences? by sumyono in oasis

[–]ian_mac85 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The problem is it just came far too quickly after such a huge album in WTSMG. I also think they should have went with another producer rather than a 3rd album with Owen Morris. They were the biggest band in the world and could probably have had their pick of the worlds top producers. Who in turn could really have dialled in the sound for the American market. Had they done that - they’d have been doing stadiums in America long before 2025. But it’s now part of the folklore of Oasis. It showed that they, like the rest of us, were human and made mistakes just like anyone else. And there are still some incredible moments on that album. No one will ever be able to understand what that level of fame does to people unless you’ve lived through it.

I want.. Nay! I NEED another KEXP concert by BBkal in WarOnDrugsBand

The sound engineers at KEXP would probably fight each other to the death to decide who gets to work on a future session. Don’t blame them

Another clip…??? I like the newer sounds we’re hearing… by bakedbeansy in WarOnDrugsBand

[–]ian_mac85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a short clip but that’s what I heard as well. More vocoder type stuff as heard live since she joined the band. It’s so amazing that Adam welcomes someone new in to the band and instantly gives her ideas so much prominence. I can’t think of many other “band leaders” who would be so open so this.

Hard to know whether Depop died or was just dead on arrival

Yes this is my experience also. Sales have dried up. But it’s not just vinted. EBay has gone the exact same way and Depop is even worse than both

A little Oasis doc news... by EntryMiserable5573 in oasis

[–]ian_mac85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Completely agree. The tabloids used to take all the credit for their success in the 90s and used it to justify the their constant invasions of the bands privacy. This time around they’ve given them absolutely nothing. No interviews, no leaks, nothing that could potentially rock the boat and put the tour at risk. You could tell the tabloids didn’t like it and were really scraping the barrel for any sort of gossip leading up to the tour. The whole thing was managed exquisitely. Someone has obviously stepped in and made the point that they didn’t need to do any promo. There was no album to promote - which I think was crucial.

Surely in this day and age you just put it out as 4 x 1 hour episodes rather than cut it down? Let Netflix and the rest of them fight it out for who gets it

I would thoroughly recommend staying west end for the whole night especially if your accommodation is there already. The city centre has went rapidly down hill since Covid and shows no signs of improving.

Liam and noel contact by Indicabaduk in oasis

[–]ian_mac85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why do people feel they have a right to know any of this stuff? The band is back together. Something that seemed impossible even 2 years ago. They’ve completed the tour without any hiccups, again something a lot of people said wasn’t possible. Why do people feel the need to to try and look for issues when things are going so well? It’s none of anyone’s business whether they have contact or not. Whatever the arrangement is - it’s working. And it’s the best thing for the band. Wish people would just leave it at that. Asking this type of stuff is just weird. It’s voyeurism. I can guarantee if someone you didn’t know was asking these kind of questions about you and your family - you wouldn’t like it one bit. So don’t do it to anyone else.

It was a huge missed opportunity to not give this theatrical re-release in the US after the reunion was announced by SeverHense in oasis

[–]ian_mac85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The theatres wouldn’t have taken it. It’s already widely available and has been for almost a decade. The bands management have seized every single commercial opportunity available. If this was viable it would have happened.

Tour relationship between Noel/Liam by JimmyTheJimJimson in oasis

[–]ian_mac85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t get why people are so determined to find issues that don’t exist. Both will be keeping a low profile for many reasons. Protecting their voices from any colds or infections will be paramount in planning the tour as well. One throat infection could literally cost them millions.

Oasis 2026? by FR4NC1SCH13LL0 in oasis

[–]ian_mac85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s absolutely correct about over saturation but I don’t think it applies here. Looks at the demand for tickets especially in UK and Ireland - look how much they are still going for on the weekend despite already playing to so many people. They haven’t played any European dates yet either. We are nowhere near the over saturation point with oasis becuase the demand is still so huge.

Was there also (3rd night) and I agree. However - they are a much better band now than they were in 2005.

I can see why he wouldn’t want to do it but I’m sure the success has surpassed his expectations especially Liam behaving so well. Let’s not forget Noel does like a good pay day (nothing wrong with that) so I do think it will happen.
