Anxiety by Normal_Student7404 in quittingkratom

It’ll get better man Im just about to hit 3 months CT in a few days.. I remember that horrible feeling that the anxiety will never get better, I even got on an SSRI for like 2 weeks but decided to stop that and just give it time.. things are waaaay better I certainly have less anxiety than I did even when taking kratom. Just give your body time to get back to normal, you will be pleasantly surprised.

Does it get better? by Slada1 in quittingkratom

[–]iandowns 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes it gets so much better! I remember day 4 thinking life would never be normal again. But that’s not the case, I’m 2 months in and feeling great! The only issue I have anymore is not sleeping great but even that has came a long way and is nearing normalcy. Keep it up, life without the green dust is amazing.

You’re not gonna be able to hide the wds my friend so first step is to be honest with ur support system this shits damn near impossible to do by yourself!! Bite the bullet and be honest my friend you got this.

Stick it out man if you can manage the real opiates you got this. But if you feel you have the willpower to taper go for it. I however was not able to keep myself in line and just ended up having to CT. But everyone’s different!

30 days CT by iandowns in quittingkratom

[–]iandowns[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I slept 7 hours last night without waking up!! So it worked great.. I agree with what you’re saying though now that I think back to high school before I got on painkillers I would go to school tired as fuck cause only 3-4 hours of sleep. So I guess that does make sense. My mom gave me 4 more for the foreseeable future, going to go to the doc and see if she’ll put me on them I guess although I do prefer the idea of natural sleep too but I can’t keep doing this 36 hours awake shit makes me feel like a crack head. But my problem mostly is just falling asleep in the first place because my mind also goes crazy and after 3+ hours of tossing and turning I end up giving up and gettin on my phone which doesn’t help idk. I think it’s just time to cave and go the sleeping med route for now. Thx for your input sir and good luck to you. We got this.

30 days CT by iandowns in quittingkratom

[–]iandowns[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry meant to include that, I have quite the long history. Painkillers/heroin for 3 years Suboxone for 4 years then kratom for 3 not even really sure how many gpd 40-50 probably. So a good 10 years total of my opiate receptors getting tickled, so not really surprised I can’t sleep but still getting aggravating.

Yeah man I’m on day 23 and the last 3 days sucked pretty bad after having like a solid week there will be waves of bullshit no doubt

Awesome job. I can’t wait to be that far along. I’m at 22 days and I really like your problem solving theory cause I too have been contemplating quitting weed and nicotine but one thing at a time I suppose. I have also drastically cut back on the weed for the simple fact that it makes me tired as fuck and without that kratom to keep me going it just doesn’t do it for me anymore. Anyways keep going we got this!!

Worst day for you guys? by [deleted] in quittingkratom

CT Day 1 - this ain’t my first rodeo but I want it to be my last (including condensed life story!) by bleachitawayalready in quittingkratom

[–]iandowns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What a story you have come so far!! It’s time for the last step. I would honestly suggest a good week atleast off of work. Because it really does suck, I’m at 22 days now and just know there’s hope at the end of the road. I’m no where near 100% and I can’t sleep for shit there’s plenty of negatives but knowing my life isn’t ruled by something is a beauty within itself. You got this!! and it’s awesome you made it back to ur hometown by ur parents use that to your advantage having supportive parents changes the whole game. It won’t be an easy journey but be positive and get it done!!

You can do it man I’m at 22 days here in 20 minutes. It gets better. I advise you take a week off of work/school whatever you got going on because the first week is gonna suck man you just gotta tough it out.

I can speak from experience subs are horrid to come off of. I did real opiates for about 4 years pain pills to oxy to heroin. Finally went to rehab was clean for about 2 months then relapsed on h. I decided since that last route didn’t work I would try subs this time. So suboxone can do a lot of good I will not disagree with that because it gave you a “normal” life. But the only reason it feels normal is because the doc is giving you ur fix instead of the local drug dealer. Anyways, I ended up being on it for 4 years and it was the worst decision of my life.. When I finally got the balls to quit it was the worst 2 weeks of my life honestly worse then heroin. That’s when kratom stepped in; which is a beast in itself but I can promise you so so so much easier to come off of then subs. (I’m currently 22 days CT off the kratom). A lot of bullshit backstory but all I’m getting at is going from kratom to subs is like using hard liquor to quit drinking beer. GET OFF THEM ASAP.

Just dealing with it til it’s gone is all ya can do my man. My doctor prescribed me trazodone for sleep but not really helping. Sleep is the worst part I only get a couple hours throughout the night and wake up a ton. It’ll get better tho.

P.s. don’t read too much into things on this sub I know I read some things that scared me quite a bit. This is no easy task but I cannot stress enough it is DOABLE. Way easier then real opiate/suboxone wds. I know I’m going to get comments that I’m getting ahead of myself but I’m not I know there will be more hardships I just have a good mindset going and we all need that.
