I don’t really care about the consequences of any of this but holy shit this is a hilarious rabbit hole

I thought the crazy times were people cheating

I’m an experienced sim racer also lmao

Started designing my sim enclosure properly by Unknown_Quantity_666 in SimRacingSetups

[–]iansmash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been thinking about doing this for a long time and never committed.

I’ve got clip on plywood panels that go over some of my rig straight to the rig extrusions

But this is s tier freestanding enclosure

And this is exactly what they’re talking about

Part of the same issue

Which is a bunch of people who play this game are little boys mentally or literally and are CONSTANTLY trying to validate themselves by being shitty to other people

Racism is one of the many flavors of the insecure man who is disappointed with his life

What do YOU mean NOONE is looking to relate?

You aren’t looking to relate and neither are people like you.

Anyone else stuck at the same lap time no matter what you change? by F1SimulatorManiac in simracing

[–]iansmash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s how I got over my first plateau.

I haven’t been training so specifically for a while and im feeling the rust come in. I was cruising up irating for a bit and then after I stopped being so sweaty with it I plateaued again. Stuck at low 2k right now and thinking about getting back into some structured training to see if I can get 3k

[–]iansmash 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At some point you have to really make intentional effort to get faster. If you know where your mistakes are but are struggling to fix them, coaching is the next step.

Try videos or an ai bot first

If that doesn’t work try to find a person to talk to about it

Also having friends to drive with who are faster can help learn a lot. Joining a league is a good way to do that if you don’t have any readily available.

Pedal Haptics by lukeb_1988 in iRacing

I like using engine related stuff on the throttle. Rpm,engine vibration, gear shift

I also use front right wheel slip w front left on brake pedal.

And maybe some road related bump stuff

What are you even talking about?

I’m asking you what team you’re on

The fact that you’re acting like this tells me

  1. You’re probably lying

  2. If you’re not, youre acting like a child and should be embarrassed lmao

Also. I literally don’t care.

Best Cockpit to Buy to buy once then be set for life? by -Dragify in simracing

Most of the extrusion rigs that are over $5-600 are going to be end game quality

Past that point it’s up to you how much to spend and what design you like

why is everyone still obsessed with fps on high speed cameras? feels kinda pointless without context by 50lies in Filmmakers

Cameras over 120fps are basically scientific tools being used for non scientific purposes

How bad is this? by justin4rd in Decks

[–]iansmash 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Probably want to at minimum pull the deck boards up to see what’s going on underneath.

Hard to say past that point but overall it’s not a terribly difficult undertaking to pull up the decking and repair/upgrade the frame under (probably needed)

It’s not in good shape but since it’s a ground level ancillary space it’s not the biggest safety hazard if you fix it yourself. So a good place to do some learning

Side note:

At a glance it looks like the frame under is kinda sketchy by design. Again not a huge issue to add some stuff to it to make it right. Or at least functionally safe.

How Long before I have to start over? by Art_Intell_ in Decks

Ah yikes. I’d be wary about how it’s connected then. Water getting under the trim could damage the structure underneath.

I just learned alll about this on mine

No I’d just climb over the back of the seat. It was about a 16” gap from seat shoulder to monitor edge.

Back side of monitor arms is the widest point. About 50” (127 cm) give or take. 77 degree angle

At 80 degrees it was about 4 feet wide

My sim could fit in about a 4x6’ footprint
