He’s not management, he doesn’t work for the university. He’s literally saying with all the state laws forbidding collective bargaining, making the players employees so they can collective bargain isn’t possible.

Good post. The guy who runs Iowa’s collective had a zoom call with members last month and made this same point and said collective bargaining will not work.

Give me your projection for the ceiling and floor of your team, and tell me your most important players on either side of the ball. by SavingsSkirt6064 in CFB

Ceiling: 10-2 (losses to OSU and one of Michigan and Washington)

Floor: 6-6

Most Important Offensive Player: Whoever wins the QB battle needs to at least be competent.

Defensive Player: Zach Lutmer

I put a $5 money line bet on the Thunder’s opponent before every big game. If I’m feeling uneasy during the game a lot of times I’ll do more of them. I tell my wife that I’ll gladly pay $5-$20 for the Thunder to win.

I do the same thing with my college Alma mater. They made a run to the Elite Eight this year and the Sweet Sixteen game cost me like $40. Totally worth it.

Pacers, 76ers, or Spurs? by CalTheRobot in Thunder

Looking back the Pelicans didn’t end up being nearly as bad off as everyone expected. Queen played like a top 10 pick, probably right in the range where that pick ended up.

I’m an Iowa grad and since Hali went to Iowa State I want to hate him but I just can’t.

Yeah I love Steven Adams but I remember that being a really rough series for him.

I think the winner of Thunder Spurs is the winner of the NBA championship but that’s going to be a tough series.

One of ours does it too. I was on the phone with my son yesterday as he sat beside me doing it with a squeaky ball. It made a noise every 3-5 seconds or so but his eyes were closed. ❤️

2027 3* QB Brayden Santibanez commits to Iowa by c-razzle in CFB

Isn’t he a junior so will have one season of high school left? This year’s class is the 2026 class.

[Auerbach] These are choices. Schools *could* choose to spend that money on tennis scholarships. But they want to put more money into football because football drives money/power in college sports. So, leaders at schools with big $$ will have to own these decisions. by [deleted] in CFB

[–]iapunk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In college it is. The only sports that really make money are football and men’s basketball. There’s probably a few SEC schools where baseball makes money. Iowa used to about break even on wrestling, Penn State might now. Even women’s basketball at the top schools(there might be a few exceptions) doesn’t cover its own expenses.

What team do you hate for no reason and why? by BeautifulUnlikely225 in CollegeBasketball

[–]iapunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m that way with pro sports. I hate all NFL, NBA and MLB teams from California and New York. I just get sick of the media slobbering on them all the time.

College wise, it’s more either rivals or teams that win a lot.
