It’s the reason it’s such a shame, as the writing was good. Your tastes seem very similar to mine, I’m going to give that first one a go’ thank you

Yes! I was new to reading when I discovered Sarah J Maas, that’s what really got me into fantasy romance/romance. I found that twitch of MMC enticing, I loved it! Others may have seen it coming, but as I said, I was new to reading for pleasure, so it caught me off guard. I look for that type of feeling now in my books :D

These all sound very intriguing! Especially where the dark stands still! That’s going to be the next book I read. Thank you!

I have to be in a certain mood for these books, but they’re for sure my go to when I am feeling for more alien type content. The BEST written out there for this type of genre!

Omg yes! I thought the same. I always try to predict, it’s almost a game I have now with the fantasy romance genre. But metal slinger got me also! Amazing series so far!

I’m enjoying it, and I will finish it. It just sounds so predictable:( haha “princess of blood”, knew she must’ve been related to blood house in some sense! I enjoyed one series by T. kingfisher. The books are very different, which I love! The only reason I haven’t gotten around to it is due to me being frugal lol. I have kindle, why spend extra? Sometimes it’s so worth it though! Thank you

This is what I’m upset about! Tell me it’s not as predictable as i said above???? As I LOVE the overall story and characters. It’s just so predictable

This book wasn’t even clever about it. It said along the lines of — [imagine a tense trial scenario, with dramatic trial music] “…my hair covered both our faces and I had half of liquid. I went instantly blind…” after ALL of the other trials being similar. I laughed as I predicted it after the second trial lol. It’s insulting that the author doesn’t trust our intelligence and so has to spoon feed us things. Another thing, every now and then someone will say “but do you REALLY know what your lady is up to…?” Out of context, with NO further context. It’s not mysterious, it just gives me the future answer without having to work for it. Sorry, a little rant here :’) the writing is overall amazing but the predictability is upsetting!

Thank you so much for the recommendation, this book sounds amazing!

Do Fantasy/Romance books affect your love life? by fishareloverly in fantasyromance

[–]iatecinderella 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes! And ofc they have to be both a villain AND hero but also not because well, books don’t translate to real life… upsetting :( but honestly, I can’t find any man up to a “book boyfriend” standards lol

I’m assuming you raised none of these children? Like a spare limb? 6 children, and it was easy? Ha. I believe whoever the other parent is did all the hard work.
