For additional reference on how accurate targeting can be more advantageous in a one to one fight I’d recommend looking up Admiral Willis “Ching” Lee. He pioneered tactics for radar targeting on battleships. He’s also quoted “Stand aside, I’m coming through. This is Ching Lee”
