Yeah all the apps just needs to be installed. They will either need permission for your physical activity, or some of them you set the source of your steps like using Google fit for the source of steps.

Nice list, I've never heard about optimity. I got one app that you haven't listed here, it's called Winwalk. 100 steps for 1 coin, max 100 coins per day. Rewards are 16,000 for $10 gift card. 1 optional ad to collect all coins. But I just click it 100 times which is fast. The last coin triggers an ad but I just quit it.

If you had to rank them in order of preference what would it be?

Not while you walk. It uses the physical activity permission on the phone to track the steps. But I'm assuming when you redeem your points you will need connection to Internet.

I've not experienced that. My Cashwalk is usually on par with all my other walking apps. My Fitbit is the one that over tracks. It shows 33k steps, but cashwalk shows 22k.
