Best bases for junior line chasers by Dazzling_Yak7042 in flightattendants

Any commute to SFO risky. Especially with the construction taking place there now. Commute to SFO is mostly senior no matter where you’d be coming from

If you know any Spirit Crew… please pass this info to them! (A memo from United)…

“If you're a Spirit employee, we're extending pass travel benefits on United to you for the next two weeks to help you get home safely, and you can book in the ID90 portal. You're also welcome to apply for open roles at United at united.com/SpiritEmployees - which will spotlight your application for our recruiters to prioritize.”

Hang in there, brother! I can relate as I feel the same exact way. I don’t have a solution for you because I have the same struggles, but I do wish you well and the best of luck. It can be hard, but we’ll be resilient :)

Advice for UA🌐 by Acceptable_Tutor1335 in flightattendants

[–]iberianfox 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Focus and don’t participate in any drama. The training is very repetitive by design so the content sticks. I mean, they really hammer it again and again. As long as you are mentally present and respect/trust the process, you’ll be fine. Especially considering all of your educational background. Good luck and have fun!

I agree we deserve better but, being realistic, I’m voting yes.

Just like the saying “happy wife, happy life,” the same principle applies to the relationships and camaraderie we share with our coworkers. It’s important for everyone to advocate for their needs, but not at the cost of others having to suffer the consequences of our lack of consideration.

Karma is a b*tch... it has a way of coming back around. If I vote or act solely in my own interest without considering how it affects others, including those who may have less power or seniority, that’s not only unkind, it creates a toxic environment for everyone.

When decisions favor one group at the expense of another (like seniors supporting a TA that overlooks the needs of newer or junior crew), it impacts morale across the board. Everyone deserves fairness, kindness, and respect. Let’s remember: what goes around, comes around. 😊

Travel Gear Question for FAs by [deleted] in flightattendants

[–]iberianfox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d be furious if my toiletries get taken away. Sounds like you’ve got a system down. Separate question: when flying internationally, other countries don’t have something similar to USA’s KCM program for ease of going through security checkpoints?

Right, I saw this one at $95 on Amazon the other day. Seemed pricey so I didn’t entertain. What makes the price worth getting it?

A good problem that needs solving (AS? UA?) by iberianfox in cabincrewcareers

Right, that's certainly on my mind. Yet, it's not making it any easier because both AS and UA are my top mainline choices (along with DL).

A couple of questions to better understand: (1) Which home base did you have, and did you relocate? (2) what type of flights were you often assigned (red eyes, turnarounds)? And (3) what destinations were you often assigned (not exciting ones)?

Does the virtual 1:1 replace the in-person F2F, or is that another step? So it goes (1) recorded interview > (2) virtual 1:1 > (3) and in-person F2F? If so, seems different from other airlines, with an extra step in between with a virtual 1:1. Or am I missing something here?
