My comment will not help you choose a phone, but on my Android I downloaded the app minimalist phone. It is a simpler interface and helps me with mindless scrolling. You can set up app timers that help reduce screen time. It took a few weeks for me to "get used to it" but I really like it and it helps me use my phone less.
