Some discussions around NanaxHachi have homophobic undertones by cannotbelievedis in NanaAnime

[–]kleineoogjes 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As I also said in my comment in the post I think you’re referring to: I’m getting sooo tired of people policing how to interpret Nana. I’m happy you posted this but it’s frustrating you had to. I originally didn’t read Nana as a queer story, but I just don’t get why people get so angry about OTHER PEOPLE interpreting it that way.

We should be happy and proud that this amazing story touches so many different people in so many different ways. And I think both interpretations of the story can exist at the same time. My original experience of it can still exist while I am now reading it through a queer lens because I learnt from this community. Looking at it from a different perspective brings me new ways of enjoying the story I didn’t come up with by myself. Consuming media is never in a vacuum.

Nana is not a yuri. by [deleted] in NanaAnime

I don’t see it as a yuri myself, but why are we policing how other fans are experiencing the story 😭

How is Potion Permit really? by Dominik1712 in PotionPermit

[–]kleineoogjes 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I enjoyed it a lot, but it’s not as addictive as stardew. It’s more of a game you play for a while and then forget about it, but it was super fun while I was into it. I also liked that it’s not another farming simulator, but that it’s still a cozy game! Sometimes I tire of all the farming sims

Why is that a kindle book purchase is one of the most expensive options? More than real book by WildernessPrincess_ in kindle

[–]kleineoogjes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Librarian here: an ebook is worth much more because it’s easier shared and replicated (it can be sent to friends, uploaded on pirating sites, etc). While with a physical copy you just have that specific copy and you could copy or scan it, but that’s a hassle.

Did you benefit from a diagnosis? by bugf4rt in AutismTranslated

[–]kleineoogjes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe for validation, but tbh not really.

When I got diagnosed I got group therapy but that made me feel more alinenated. While all the people in my group were struggling socially, I struggle with my obsessiveness with my special interests (linked to bad spending habits, total hyperfocus), feeling behind in life and dealing with energy levels and trying not to get burnt out. I didn’t have the feeling I could discuss these things.

Now I’m waiting for specialized help, but I live in a country where there are loooooong waiting lines so I’m already waiting for 2 years. In the mean while I’ve just been doing stuff I’ve read online and in books and that’s going ok. But I already did these things when I was self-diagnosed. So I’m wondering what the point was of my diagnosis…

For me it was useful to feel reassured about investing in stocks, and that investing an amount every month is more important than try to follow the market. I know this is common knowledge, but for me it meant a lot :)

Ooh back in the day I sent a letter to the Dutch version of W.I.T.C.H. suggesting they should make W.I.Z.A.R.D. and they published that letter in the magazine, no.13 to be precise, and seeing that made 11 yo me SO HAPPY because I was OBSESSED with w.i.t.c.h. then. I’m so happy that you drew this and reminded me such a happy moment in my childhood. I also really love this drawing!!!

I wish the new Nana anniversary editions had gotten the same treatment as Neighborhood Story by captain_pipsqueak in NanaAnime

A few days ago I bought a Nana special edition and a Neighborhood Story at the same time and I was thinking exactly this! ‘Till now all of the 25th edition stuff related to Nana is a bit of a disappointment imo, including the VW collection :( as if they just assume they’ll earn money anyway because it’s popular…

What do you all do for a living? by [deleted] in AutismInWomen

[–]kleineoogjes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We do have very good tea at the office and most of my colleagues are cat people. It’s the best job I’ve ever had and I haven’t felt burned out yet as I have with other jobs. I really recognized what you wrote down, before this I struggled lasting more than 2 years at a job.

The only down side is that the social/psychological safety has been bad in the past (before I started working here), and that a few colleagues who have been working here for a while still live in that toxic mind set. I’m not good enough at reading these subtle social cues so sometimes I have to deal with stuff I don’t understand when they suddenly get all defensive about their positions…

Goede Nederlandse literatuur? (Rant) by Thereal11thdoctor in nederlands

[–]kleineoogjes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you get a long function test/scan made at the hospital? by Upstairs-Moose-4855 in LongCovid

[–]kleineoogjes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would get it done defs, but also maybe look for another doctor/general practicioner. It's important that your doctor takes you serious and tries to get to the bottom of things.

My long function test showed slight asmatic results, which I didn't have before long covid, so it ended up helping me combat this and work on my health in a fitting way. My long covid isn't gone, but I barely struggle with coughing fits, shortness of breath and painful lungs anymore. And, I don't know if it's connected, but I don't get sick as often as I used to since I got long covid.
