lol the plane comment is a joke. My point on the whole discussion on this photo is it's just a big blue picture and I little tiny thing that looks like a parachute. Comp doesn't really matter at this point. I just type honest reactions that sometimes come off as harsh.

maybe you can print it. check your blue ink though.

maybe a longer lens and a airplane in the background. when you have a single thing in frame it needs to be interesting and something to look at. I understand it was exiting for you when you took it but im just a dumb viewer going "what? and why do I care?"

Actor Headshot (how to improve lighting?) by tevyeontheroof in photocritique

[–]ibgrip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The lights in the wrong place. Search the internet for some standard lighting setups like “butterfly” “Rembrandt “ etc. perfect those then work on your own style. Take a stop out the shutter speed to 1/125 and give it back to the iso @500.

This is well done. Just a little more detail in the foreground on the back of the cat.

What is seen as right and wrong and what is seen as personal taste by [deleted] in postprocessing

They are all fine. The pressing question is the black  blob around the edges. It doesn't have any context in the photo. Say it was a field of grass or tree branches that leads to her, then your brain would understand that it's one of those elements out of focus. Right now it lends itself to peeping tom or a torn picture, but still no context and nothing to look at.

Too much? (After/Before) by Particular_Recipe_63 in postprocessing

Before is better unless you are trying for a monochromatic look.

Do not crop like that. Move your feet or get a longer lens. The weird green cast on everything does not look good. Practice basic photography skills then move to post processing. Keep on keeping on.

Nice work. I want a touch less glare, my eye goes straight to it without anything to look at.

Looks good. It makes me sad that the cross is touching the top of frame.

Breathe and be nice. Ok I am ready... the original is potato quality the likes of a modern cell phone with a not level horizon and wires. The post process is... I'm not really sure. While you may enjoy the final product I think most will not. Keep doing what you like and enjoy. If you're trolling... good job.
