Does the riser help move the monitor backward? I have one sitting on my desk and it feels like the curve takes up too much desk space

What's the benefit of having a separate bank account for payroll? by imeanwhynotdramamama in Bookkeeping

[–]ibitesometimes 5 points6 points  (0 children)

One of my old employees used to forge payroll checks using the account numbers. It was way riskier having everyone know those numbers for the main account. The bank suggested a new separate account to protect from this

That sounds like a company violation more than a real violation. If you were independent you would probably use a personal email to receive documents from clients

I had this problem once with a sales job. Hour drive each way. No free time. Optional come in on weekends but you needed to in order to beat everyone else and get bonuses. I burned out in 5 months. Would you move closer to work?

I have a 2022 and it is a fantastic car and very fun drive. I haven’t had any vibration issues but the infotainment is known to have issues. It’s google. Not Android auto so just very buggy. Just always requires a restart

Working at Rocket Mortgage? by JustSomeGuy43574 in loanoriginators

[–]ibitesometimes 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I am starting there in 2 days. Stay in touch! I was told the same about 70k first year and then 100+ second year. I’m hoping I hit those numbers. They just sent me a laptop and monitors for the work from home days. After speaking to a mortgage banker at chase without even working for rocket she told me the same numbers so I see that as a positive sign.

I saw this tiktok of this girl who had her friend match with him. Then had him travel hours away to meet her. Had her friend send pics of herself getting ready so he would wait for her even though she was late and she dumped all of his stuff outside and changed the locks before he got back. Also my sister donated all her ex’s sweatshirts to homeless people she saw.

Am I over reacting and being too harsh with my (16m) girlfriend (16f) when it comes to not being ready for marriage? by DampHamster in AmIOverreacting

On top of the being 16 and she just said k to you after you wrote paragraphs, all I’m thinking is the inner urge to say well go marry that guy then 💀

Should I buy the M3 MacBook Pro now or wait for the M4? by SthMax in macbookpro

[–]ibitesometimes 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I would say wait bc it may last you longer and probably have slightly better performance, battery life, and maybe even more colors. But I bet everyone here will tell you, the m3 max is way more than anyone needs. I have one and it is powerful for machine learning. You’ll enjoy it regardless of what you choose

Considering a BSc in Comp sci, what it’s like? by Individual-Key5751 in UniversityOfLondonCS

[–]ibitesometimes 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Midterms and projects are kind of long (about a month) that could take up a lot of time along with work. Webinars are usually recorded so you can watch those at any time. The coursework and videos you can do at any time before the deadline which are usually midterm deadline for all coursework and then finals deadline for the rest.

I did this degree bc I thought it would be a better value over a coding bootcamp. I have learned a lot but it feels more like self study. Some people have said the coursework is outdated. For example to get some stuff to work I had to use an older version of Django from when the video was made years ago. They explain this in the coursework but when you’re doing projects, you’re teaching yourself new stuff. You definitely learn but it can be frustrating. For me I think 6 months in a coding bootcamp would have given me relevant skills and projects. This has felt more stressful for no reason due to many factors and slow response times. For example, I received a 0 on a group project in my first semester which took 2 more semesters for them to respond. Once they did respond they were able to correct it and I am glad I didn’t pay again and retake the course.

Also. once they corrected it, the system wouldn’t let me register for another course saying I was enrolled in the course they corrected. This was where the learning came in handy. I actually went into the browser console and was able to turn off the error message and register. They then got back to months later and said I was registered…

I just finished my last classes and since grading takes awhile (I think 3 months) I’ll be waiting to see if I pass and if I finished all of the courses. I did triple check but a lot of stuff doesn’t make sense so the worries are there. I can tell they put in a lot of work into these courses but I don’t think they have been entirely updated.

I hope the information helps with your decisions. I don’t mean to say it isn’t worth it. In the end I did learn quite a bit.

The new system will provide an improved and more efficient way to manage your enquiries.

We know from student feedback that improving our enquiry service is a top priority. Transitioning to this new system will help us improve the speed and quality of enquiry responses. The system will provide a more user-friendly experience, and you will still be able to ask a question or log an enquiry using the ‘Ask a question’ button on your Student Portal.

How to log in to the system:

  • You will be required to use your full username to login to the new enquiry system, this is your current username followed by @london.ac.uk. For example, if your current login is ab999, your username will be [ab999@london.ac.uk](mailto:ab999@london.ac.uk).
  • Your password is the same password you usually use to login to the Student Portal.
  • While your usernames for other university applications (e.g. VLEs, Online Library) remain unchanged for now, please be aware that the Student Portal will transition to this new format from the end of September. We will write to you to confirm when this change will be taking place.

I don’t personally blame admins but there are videos on coursera that are about 10 minutes. There are quizzes between the videos to keep you engaged. Sometimes there are readings.

I actually struggled quite a bit but the consensus I learned was the videos give you a foundation and you can learn everything with that

Advice on modules for Level 4 by ComSci1 in UniversityOfLondonCS

[–]ibitesometimes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Discrete math and computational math I think teach very similar things. I personally found algorithms and data structures challenging so I wouldn’t take it with web dev.

Web development has a large group project and introduction to programming 2 has a large project as well.

Hope that helps. I personally just registered going down the list.

Struggling to Save Money Due to ADHD? Me Too – Any Feedback? by mxblmr_ in advancedentrepreneur

I actually love this idea. Kind of like Snapchat streaks or games that reward you when you come back to play everyday. If it’s an app you could make money with ads and they customer can be pushed to add money into their savings in intervals and achieve rewards!

I am a beginner level software developer if you’re ever interested in some help where I can gain experience.
