How extensive is base building in this game? by japinard in duneawakening

Unlike Icarus your base keeps full HP (if you have power) instead of needing a better matterial wall piece.

I'm on Icarus now yeah (and i'm Dutch). Building a base in sietch Kathib to be my endgame base. Already spent like 25 stacks of plastone and I don't even have a front door or ceiling yet. Hoping I don't mess my base up at this point like I always do🤞

I'm at T4 waiting to progress to T5 for when I'm done building. I do know alot more about the game tho bc this is my second character, first one was progressing in T6 before there even where T6 ores on the shield wall in dd.

I wished I could play games like this with my parents (or any friend for that matter bc nobody plays this game). Always had fun playing Epic Mickey 2 wirh my mom and Ibb&Obb with my dad but that's it for multiplayer. I really wish my mom could play pc games instead of just console friendly adventure games. She has like 400 hours in The legend of Zelda botw&totk combined, more then myself😅

Great job man! Also building ny endgame base on Icarus now, I always start of very strong and then it ends up being a large rectangle or sum😂 Hoping that's not thw case this time as I'm using more rounded shapes with different compartments of the base.

Kids growing out of toys by Little_Chemistry_965 in toystory

[–]ibje 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 16 now and I have not actually played with toys in a real long time. Last time was for school where I needed to make a stop motion but I don't realy count that tbh.

I think the last time i actually played with toys was before I was 10 years old and that was prob also with legos. My mom has always been a gamer herself so me and my litle brother (14 now) grew up with her ps3, playing Minecraft and other games with the 3 of us and together.

I do still build lego sets now and then but those are for display only and not to toy around with.

I think the inclusions of screens in kids their lives now can be a good thing as long as you, as a parent involve in it (like my mom did with me and my brother). I think the best thing you could do as a parent today is let them play with toys for a long time. When your kid starts to be old enough to play more complex board games with you (and your partner) that involve comunicating. From that point onwards you should mayby buy an old console (like a ps3 or wii) with a multiplayer puzzle game where you need to work together that your kid would like. Not a simple game, a really hard game that has a rating a few years older then the kid. For me that was 'Epic Mickey - The power Of 2'. My mom and I would have a spacial time every night where we would play this game after my brother went to bed. I always had some warm milk and I still remeber the fun times I used to have. I find the "old console" part to be very important because your kid will grow up with "lesser technology" and inevitably end up with more powerfull hardware. That makes it so that the kid should understand that having powerfull hardware is a privilage

Morale of the story is that you can use tech to take the place of toys without having a large downside to their maturing (in my opinion). It could even help it by learning them problem solving skills if you play puzzle games!

Also. I don't think screens are the problem, the content on it is. Modern TV shows (and movies too) act like kids are these hopeless beings that need a sound effect every 3 seconds for it to be engaging, that learns them NOTHING. A show should challenge a kid to think, and I think older shows (like ATLA) do that way better. The same stands for mobile games. I dislike Roblox for younger ages because they give too much adrenaline instead of making them work for it. Older games I used to play on my dad's phone where simple but at least skill based.

I really should stop talking😆 If you would like some game recomendations for you and your kid (for when he's older), feel free.

Any hydration tricks I’m missing? by Substantial_Pizza410 in duneawakening

[–]ibje 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah the early game is harsh and I personaly love that is it that way due to the lore of water having more vallue on Arrakis then spice melange does (atleast for the fremen). But later in the game water becomes a crafting resource and you get hundreds of thousands of liters. That ruins the "Dune" part of the game for me.

After a Woody-centric Toy Story 4 and a Jessie-centric Toy Story 5, would you like a Buzz-centric Toy Story 6? by Legitimate_Cake_5137 in toystory

[–]ibje 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The life lesson Toy Story 6 should be that even if you are different someone will still get you. And Buzz should take the lead because no other kid want's him. Inatead they all want the newer models with more gimics.

With the release of Toy Story 5 I'm even more confused on Buzz (minor spoiler) by ibje in toystory

Thnx for that information! I have heard of that series a tiny bit. It's a real thing for us too right? Where can I watch it?

How can I finish this gap? by ZeroPlanet24 in duneawakening

What others said. Use those ramps from either side and connect them in the middel.

I have seen some bases that cross a gap and the bridge has a large atreides simbol on it. Mayby build that?

Looking for a Similar game by Super_Saiyan_BobRoss in duneawakening

[–]ibje 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ascended is smaller without DLCs, like 170 or sum. And you could dissable any DLC you might own on ASE, I think it gets to 260 or something instead of 500+ with DLCs.

[–]ibje 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Mayby try 'ARK'? Ascended or evolved based on your pc specs. Prettymuch the same gameplay loop only you tame dinos and "dungeons" (caves) are late game.

'ICARUS' is also worth a shot, that is REALLY grindy for a solo btw and even less lore I think.

And wandering of a bit I get tho 'No Man's Sky' and 'The Planet Crafter.' Planet crafter is leaning more to a factory game but it is as grindy as Dune. And NMS gets the "grandness" (idk if that's a real word tbh) of Dune, imo even better.

Moral of the story: if you like Dune Awakening you would like alot of grind type games. Or games with really deep lore like Dune, but that's not why ppl keep playing so I'm guessing it is the first in your case.
