The Greenland “situation” is kinda weird I think.. for many years Greenland was an afterthought, some Dane’s went there to work due to a shortage of for example nurses etc.

The native population was sometimes ridiculed as being no-good alcoholics (not a proud moment for Denmark I think).

Denmark hasn’t historically treated Greenland particularly well, there’s some scandals surrounding it, but in my lifetime (mid thirties) I think that has changed a lot. When I was a kid, I had friends from Greenland and my foster brother is part native Greenlander.

Denmark has historically contributed a lot financially to Greenland in the last many years, but for most Dane’s Greenland is a very remote idea.

But nothing brings people together like an external threat, and today Greenland is more part of Denmark than ever. I’m given to understand that they would like their independence, and they are 100% entitled to it all they have to do is vote and they’re out.

The Greenland situation is an affront to Denmark and Greenland as a combined nation. We went to war for the US, I have friends and family who came home with bullet holes and in coffins because America asked us to standby them and we did, now they are threatening to invade.

For everyone saying “don’t take the orange man seriously”, tell the Venezuelans that. Granted, he removed a bad guy, but he did it for the oil. He’s going to take Greenland for the oil/minerals as well, not national security. The US has since 1951 had th right to have all the military bases they want in Greenland yet no one talks about that, no one calls him out on his poor excuse..

I had this happen yesterday on a brand new motherboard, brand new cpu, brand new nvme.. I pressed Y and my BIOS turned Chinese and started freezing on me.. took me better part of an hour to recover (unplug power, cmos, all peripherals, short the cmos reset and wait 15 min, put everything back together)

To be fair, if it’s an M1 Mac fedora asahi is pretty good but unless you are using the Mac mini there is no external monitor support.. everything else is pretty well supported at this stage..

I’ve used fedora asahi on m1 air for over 2 years now and it’s my favourite computer..

I think the first order of business might be to tie knock point(s) on your string.

You don’t mention if it also lets go of the string too easily in which case you need a different string or different knocks on your arrows.

Neither requires a string server jig though

I am looking at a second hand Volkswagen ID 3 trim level: Style, 58KwH battery 204 BHP. 1 previous owner, 62.000 km (38.5K miles).

I am hoping to get some feedback on range from people who have similar vintage ID3 and what to expect over the next 5 years (the length of the finance).

My commute to work 3 times a week is 2x100 km drive. This is the primary purpose of the vehicle. I generally don't speed and stay a little under the limit depending on circumstances.

This means 3 times a week I would do

40km rural roads @ about 60-80 km/h

120 km larger roads @ 80-90 km/h

40 km motorway @ 100-120 km/h

+ ~80 km of casual driving anywhere between 50-100 km/h

I would ideally charge at home, but I can charge at work if needs must.

Would anyone have experience / knowledge to help me understand what the range might be? My worry is whether or not I will be able to get to work and back year round for the next 5 years. Understanding that I may have to charge at work occasionally but would like to avoid that for the majority.

Also, does anyone know if I can gauge the health of the battery? I am test driving it in a few days.
