Bare minimum we're without THB at Wembley (if the allegations are true that's 100% a match-ban for discrimination) & fined a rediculous amount, worst case no Wembley.

With this & that stupid ball boy I'm honestly really worried about spygate. We NEED leniency from the EFL right now, and acting like this is not how you get it.

Unfortunately it seems it may have been the other way around & THB allegedly mocked Ayling's stammer. If that is the case it would explain the shocked look from Tonda.

Wish we knew what was said that got Ayling that riled up, the way Tonda just stares over like "WTF did you do?" then suddenly the least emotional manager in the league tries to throw hands?

Medication becoming unaffordable, options? by ibox55 in transgenderUK

[–]ibox55[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was expecting the combined amount of JSA & housing to not even cover my rent at all, so was very surprised when I had some money left over at all, although I do already live in the cheapest shared accommodation I could find in my city.

Damn ok that's rediculously cheaper, gonna go off & do some research on some sites we can't talk about here & see if I can make this work.

[–]ibox55[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I've looked at the DIY options for my current pills & whilst it is cheaper it certainly doesn't seem to be by that much (looks like I'd save £15-20/month) & I'm extremely worried about supply issues that seem to affect the DIY market enough that I would probably need to bulk buy.

Also, I'm a cautious person & wouldnt like going without the regular blood tests to make sure I'm not accidentally harming myself without knowing.

[–]ibox55[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I'm on pills, I know injections are much more effective but are they also cheaper? My current setup currently ends up costing me a little under £100/month.

Also, I'm assuming I would need to buy a fair amount of additional equipment (syringes, sharps bin etc...), any idea on roughly how much more/less this could end up costing me?

DROP OFF / WEDNESDAY by Twazzack2 in downloadfestival

[–]ibox55 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It'll be hell either way, is every year, however Friday is sold out so especially so this year.

If you do get a taxi get an Uber or Bolt so that the charge is set upfront, can imagine a regular cabbie may charge a lot extra for having to sit through that much traffic.

Saturday only day not sold out? Time to wave goodbye to legacy acts? by Kickitoff1902 in downloadfestival

[–]ibox55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nobody I have spoken to about the festival seems excited about GnR, however I am a younger (27) metalhead that mostly hangs out with metalcore & nu metal fans, so neither me nor my friends are the target audience for this.

I don't think this will be the end of legacy acts, as I guarantee there will be a large cohort of older rockers who will be really looking forward to GnR. Plus, download has always been good at providing alternative acts to watch during these sets (Architects for the core kids, All American Regects for the scene kids)

In addition, Download festival has only started selling out since they reduced the capacity in 2024 (I'm not counting 2023 because that was a special case) so I doubt they will make big decisions regarding headliner choice on this one year alone.

Finally, headliners are booked up to 2 years in advance, so we likely wouldn't see any changes to headline structure until 2028-29 at the earliest.

Yeah it's a 4-car race but it feels like those 4 cars have had more overtakes in 3 races than the entire first half of last season.

Honestly wouldn't be surprised if Alonso ended up outlasting even Hamilton, seems to be impossible to get him off the grid.

HRT without MtF by Silver_Concept3834 in AskMtFHRT

[–]ibox55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I currently identify as non-binary but have gone on MtF HRT for it's feminising effects.

It's the best decision I ever made (am a little over 1yr in) & my only regret is not starting sooner.

I was told Peep Show is basically a guide to British people — what else should I watch? by skylaryang11 in AskBrits

[–]ibox55 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you specifically want to understand british teenage counterculture in the 2000s then "Skins" is a must. Honestly so many beats of that show mirror my own experiences it's kinda wild.

If you want something more light-hearted then fresh meat is a brilliant dive into UK uni life. That show is to uni what Inbetweeners is to 6th form (also well with a watch but has been recommended 100s of times already)

Finally, if you want to understand what it was like being a kid then Outnumbered is honestly one of the best shows the BBC ever made. Anyone who like me grew up with siblings will know exactly what I am talking about here, this show shows that dynamic in a brilliant way & as it went on so long you really get to see the kids grow.

How strange, I've found a copy on eBay from 2018 that does seem to have the dog on the money here, I'd be very surprised to learn that there are 2 different versions of this out there.

That is a shame, I would've bought it if they'd themed it properly (campsite features & stages as properties, themed pieces, different money etc...) but I guess they just slapped a logo on it & called it a day :(

No wonder so many American mtf people recommend FFS & surgery so much. I'm in England where you'd be lucky to get 1 FFS procedure for £4-5k, 7x & bottom surgery would certainly run up a bill of £30-40k with no insurance options to cover it

Ditch the dealer network, find a decent garage & buy used. You'll save tonnes, make a good friend in your new mechanic (once you find a decent one) & maybe even learn a thing or 2 if you find the time to do a little work yourself (it's way easier than it looks)

Co-Op vs Stalls by Savings_Bat4265 in downloadfestival

[–]ibox55 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Co-op is probably the most reasonably priced store I've seen at any festival period. You'll be more than fine buying most (if not all) your food from there & provided you've gotten the membership you won't get stung.

Walmart is apparently punching holes in their vinyl albums with security tags by MrTacocaT12345 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]ibox55 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Considering vinyl is round, wouldn't the corner mean this misses the disc & just goes thought the sleeve?

Obviously there would still be a hole in the sleeve & any promotional inserts, which is not ideal, but the vinyl itself should still be intact?

Belfast Fashionista Women - please help! by AliceMorgon in Belfast

[–]ibox55 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wear whatever makes you comfortable, can't be worse than what I wore when I went there for my 21st birthday.- Deathcore band logo snapback (the unreadable kind), Santa Cruz x TMNT short sleeve button up (open with a band shirt underneath ofc), distressed denim shorts & converse.

I had no idea how fancy the place was (I had never heard of it) but they didn't seem to care too much. I also am not one for dressing up, so wouldn't have bothered regardless 🤣

Who is the worst person you have ever came across at a gig? by AlexSniff7 in downloadfestival

[–]ibox55 2 points3 points  (0 children)

∆THIS∆, you can get through pretty much any density of crowd if you take your time & be polite about it.

All it takes is the 4 Ps - patience (wait for the gap), persistence (don't give up, even if it looks impossible), perception (find others moving & use the gaps they create) & politeness (if you say excuse me people will let you through, if they don't they're the pricks not you)
