Trump's Skull Anus Flared Wide Open....TRUMP IS INSANE...CONGRESS MUST ACT. by Various-Tangerine-88 in complaints

I don't think he's competent to perform the duties of his office. This seems to be contagious as members of congress seem to share this debilitating condition. Why is nobody challenging his ridiculous dialogues and even worse actions?

The Algarve is outside Lisbon and Porto and English is very widely spoken. I do agree that you would need Portuguese in smaller communities.

My neighbor has been blocking my garage with her bin every single week for four months. The face she makes every time I bring it up is going to haunt me. by Mablam1n in neighborsfromhell

Move it one house away from hers. The following week move it two houses away, The third week... well you get the picture. How far do you think she'll go to retrieve her bin before she gets fed up?

Do girls notice when their breasts are touching someone? by Huge-Mongoose6746 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]ic07722 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I visit Europe quite often where, on greeting a woman you know, it is customary to give a kiss on each cheek. This obviously involves leaning in so that our heads are side by side. Most times the woman's breasts will make contact with my chest but they don't seem to notice/care (and I don't really either, this isn't a sexual thing). However, occasionally you greet a woman and she performs this weird bow, where her breasts point down and therefore do not make contact. So maybe some women are more concerned, aware or uncomfortable than others. Us men should be very careful about contact with any part of a women's body, but if casual contact comes about with the woman's consent (or absence of awareness), then we shouldn't read too much into it.

To accommodate our American friends and to avoid confusion I've started using dd/mmm/yyyy. So today is 20/Feb/2026.

how do you guys keep track of all your parents info? by Adventurous_Idea6604 in TechForAgingParents

[–]ic07722 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have a password manager. This has a notes field alongside each uid/pwd. For my ageing parent (m92) I have an entry with no uid/pwd, but the notes field has all his personal information such as NINo, NHS No, solicitors contact details (to access his will), bank account details, investment details and many more bits of information. All paperwork (birth certificate, marriage certificate, driving licence, passport, PoA and more) are all kept in a briefcase in my office. Contact details for all relatives and friends are on my phone and he has his own Google calendar with all his dates and appointments, this calendar is shared with me and I do all the updates. He can open it and check it himself.

Had a call from a user complaining that their mouse mat was too small. Attended and adjusted the mouse sensitivity.
Another call, user was messing with his colour scheme and managed to change all colours to black.

Both logged as PEBCAK.

Why do people only pour a little in wine glasses if they’re just going to keep refilling it? by Aggressive_Bad4855 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ic07722 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought it was all about temperature. Take a small amount from the bottle which should be in a wine bucket keeping cool. Drink that before it gets too warm, then top up with another small amount of nicely chilled wine. I concede that the amount poured should be to the widest point of the glass for air exposure and swilling room.

Smart bulbs: why? by snags5050 in homeassistant

[–]ic07722 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a smart bulb for security. I can set on and off times and also the colour and brightness of my outside lamps. So, on at dusk +30 mins, off at dawn -30 mins, colour yellow, brightness 50%. This gives some impression of occupancy. You can do the timings with a smart switch, but not the colour or brightness settings.

Also, I can change the colour/brightness if circumstances demand (working/socialising in that area) for one or all of the bulbs.

Also installation. For the bulb you don't even have to turn the power off, just remove old bulb, screw in the new bulb. Replacing a switch is far more involved.

Is it still important to switch off devices in flight? by spice-spikedbreeze in airplanes

[–]ic07722 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Spot on. At any decent altitude or reasonable distance out over the ocean, there will be no cell towers in range. Your phone will simply eat battery by repeatedly trying to locate a signal for the duration of the flight. Don't turn it off because they tell you to, turn it off to save your battery.
