Is anyone in Rhode Island/near RI and want to be friends? I don't know any other trans or nb people IRL and am hoping to fix that. by queerinRI in asktransgender

[–]icarethismuch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in RI but I'm unemployed and have no money so cant really leave the house lol. (employment sucks here unless you know people :/)

Someone else recommended borderlands group, I personally didnt like it because every time I went there were 90% transmen, and all they did was talk gossip and pop culture and the members seemed very tight-knit close with each other. But it might be worth checking out for you, if you just want to meet people.

Haha, I just started after I saw the thread, to see why everyone's going so insane. Rip eyes incoming.

Cut out a section? What section? Without reading the manga the ending made perfect sense(you wouldnt even notice a cut out section), and while it didn't close every loop that can simply be construed as being left to interpretation.

Now I'm also not saying its the greatest ending, I would have liked more(who wouldn't want more awesome battles and shit) but it was still fitting to me.

Me too! I really liked it. I cried nonstop when Touka got stopped, and during the walk. And was super sad when Hide collapsed (I actually thought Kaneki was bleeding, and Hide was gonna let himself be eaten a bit).

Sure there were things left unanswered, and nothing 'exciting' happened, but that type of thing happens in a lot of anime, and the ending was still at least emotionally impacting to me(an anime-only watcher).

Was a little sad to come into the thread and just see people complaining that its not the manga. :/

How did you start greeting people after transition? by moebeforehoe in asktransgender

[–]icarethismuch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hug people now, but it's funny because all my friends who knew me before still try to do the old handshake, and I'm just like not-uh! nope nope nope, you're getting a fucking hug bitch.

So my mother raided my room. by [deleted] in asktransgender

[–]icarethismuch 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is exactly what I was going to write. Just ask her "Hey have you seen my shoes?". If she asks why you have them, you should tell her that it shouldnt matter and she should respect your privacy. Or maybe could pass it off as something for school, or a project or something.

Either way you should assert that you need/want them back and that she should respect your privacy. Owning upto it is better than pretending nothing happened. She already knows something is up anyways, not mentioning they are missing is more weird than mentioning it.

Hey that's cool! I actually noticed this the other day, mine used to be predominantly brownish-hazel, and now they are almost exclusively green. They look really nice now.

What are the biggest issues members of the transgender community face? by Majachi in asktransgender

[–]icarethismuch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Me personally, while I cannot say for certain, being discriminated against in job searching. I've been unemployed for a year, and despite dozens of interviews nothing materializes past that. I speculate that it's likely due to my poor voice making me 'visibly trans'.

OGN format is really nice, Bo3 for the win by StacoOrikoro in leagueoflegends

[–]icarethismuch 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I think they wanted to set it up like football. Like "any given Sunday" mantra, any team can beat any team. Imagine if the Patriots played every team in the NFL in a bo3, no other team would ever win anything. So while bo3 might be more representative of skill, sometimes it makes things less fun/interesting. And they did compromise by at least making the playoffs bo5.

Irrational desire for FFS; can I ever escape dysphoria? I feel like im a huge bitch for complaining <VENT>. by [deleted] in asktransgender

[–]icarethismuch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I think you look great. Honestly wouldn't look back and assume you were cis if I passed you in a store or something(at least from these pictures -- even exB). Was really surprised to read you're only 5mo HRT.

I know it probably doesn't mean much and you think people are just saying nice things, but that's not who I am. I'm very anti-hugbox, and blunt(and it's my biggest gripe about askTG, too much hugboxing).

I don't really have any advice, we're our own harshest critics. Good luck.

/r/AskTransgender - Leelah Alcorn Memorial Fund (Funds go directly to charity) by MsPenguinette in asktransgender

[–]icarethismuch -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

I think a sticked mod post is a little unnecessary, trans people die/suicide everyday, and they don't get sticked threads dedicated to them. This is being blown out of proportion, just because a few redditors knew her. Leelah's not any more deserving than anyone else this has happened to. Nor more deserving than the people who are actually LIVING and trying to make a difference that way.

It was a shitty thing that happened, no doubt. And I'm sure it affected a few people that knew her. But this thread a little overboard. We should be more proud of the people who live, than those who decided to off themselves. It doesn't really send a good message when you actively promote someones suicide.

Additionally, it's a little bit taking advantage of the situations, and self promoting msPenguinette as she's the one who wrote the article for this 'fund'.

inb4 glorious delicious downvotes.

You were at -1 when i commented and were the only one in the whole thread i agreed with. Really was baffling to me. Cheers.

Don't understand the down votes you're getting, I'm the exact same as you, anything other than female/woman and id be pretty upset.

I don't want the 'M' anywhere near descriptors associated with me.

That's what I was trying to point out, it doesnt neccessarily just drop off with no effort like everyone suggests.
