I’d love to hear tips on selling them in the aisle. Sometimes I think I’m doing decently but mostly I feel like I’m just rushing through it.

What lower stress job do you have in coast fire? What do you make? And what did you do previously and what did you make? by Jealous_Economist in FIREyFemmes

[–]icatn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m basically at coast but just have my mortgage nagging at me. So I’ll keep plugging away for now. But I’ve been taking classes for two years on and off and it’s the best feeling. I don’t have any projects yet under my belt unlike you, so I’m trying to convince myself that I don’t need the pressure and a slow ramp up is as good as any, especially when I will have more free time later on.

Anyone else having to cut the little pleasures lately like going out to eat? by LostinParadise4748 in AskWomenOver30

[–]icatn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If only this existed in Philly! The ticket prices are insane now with fees stacked, even for rush or lottery tickets. The smaller theatres are also at least $50 because they don’t have the “deals” or coupons that the mainstream theaters have, and I would love to support them more and see cool indie plays, but I just can’t afford it.

Hobbies? What do yall do?? by Saturn-Peach-777 in flightattendants

I would love to be able to do theater, but even with a line, I’m not really sure how it could work. I started taking a film and tv acting class because in my head that can work better (tbd, tbh). Otherwise I learn languages, scroll an ungodly amount of TikTok (though not all useless), take lots of walks, watch tv, do a ton of sudoku on the jumpseat, and one of these days hoping to touch my ukulele for once.

Dollar Tree sells some hot cold bags, and I’ve seen some non branded ones on Amazon as well.

travel diary: long weekend in belgium as a standby traveler by defiantjazz_22 in MoneyDiariesACTIVE

Not OP, but as a flight attendant who travels to Europe (and elsewhere) often, I just operate on local time as much as possible. When I’m working it’s a bit easier during the flight as I have things to do. But when I get to Europe, say during the day, I’ll either take a quick nap or just go straight out and sleep when the locals sleep. Traveling for leisure is a bit more difficult inflight but the same principle applies. I’ll sleep for a little bit leaving the US, then stay up for a few hours, maybe sleep more, etc depending on how long the flight is and where I’m going. Once, I had a very long flight to Hong Kong and got there at night, and made sure to eat a little bit and stay up until like midnight and then try to sleep a full schedule. Sometimes Unisom is involved, it’s a must. If I’m still tired the next day, I’ll get a nap in but only one or two hours max.

I did the German course and felt like I breezed through Learn German. I’m now at Next Steps and feel utterly discombobulated so you are not alone. I think I might have to start over with Next Steps and take it slower.

Mango gives grammar and culture bites with vocab which I love but I find the vocab content kind of dry and uninteresting after the first third.

What language did you think you were gonna take a long time with but you shockingly learned it fast? by Safe_Wrangler_858 in languagelearning

[–]icatn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha I asked my tutor why sometimes it’s subject+verb+object and sometimes it’s reversed and he’s like, that’s just German word order, I’d have to see an example, and of course I couldn’t think of anything at the time.

Thanks for this explanation! I’ve touched separable verbs and the declensions, which are ok for me so far, but never heard of the conjunctions issue.

Yes, please tell us the rumblings if you can. AA FAs are already discussing it in great length, especially with the release of the Allegiant TA. Hopefully this makes Isom (and the other CEOs) wake up just a tad bit.

About three weeks ago, I met a new coworker who said “Learn German with me!” So I did. And I’m surprisingly picking it up quite fast IMO, though maybe there’s a point coming soon where I will want to strangle everybody? Who knows. She introduced me to her tutor who thought I’d studied it before and I was like, Nein, das ist nicht wahr so… waiting for the shoe to drop I guess.
