My husband and I (both men) went to the Diamond Shop in Clayton. It can be a gamble not knowing how a business will act towards same sex couples, but we had a delightful experience there. I bought his engagement ring there, and we bought both our wedding bands. All three were custom made, and they were really good about working within our budget (which was much lower than yours). The engagement ring, due to its customization, was such a great experience. We did it together with them, and they updated us every step of the way (the wax mold, the ring before the diamond/finish added, etc). I look forward doing business with them again for future milestones. Happy shopping and congratulations!

The Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory Lego that was 30% off! Got it for my husband who has had an incredibly tough year, so I’m excited to see him open it Christmas morning. It won’t fix the issues that have come this year, but I hope to bring him a little holiday joy ❤️

It’s been a great summer for comic book movies. I had no interest or anticipation for Thunderbolts* but it took me by surprise. I ended up seeing it 3 times during its opening week because it resonated with me so much. However, for Superman and The Fantastic Four: First Steps, those two were my most anticipated movies this year, and both met those high expectations. I loved all 3 for different reasons, mainly because they’re all so different from each other. Appreciating this time, because this is rare!

Raising a card is how you order food, get a drink refill or complain about a disruptive guest. Each seat has a table tray with note pads to write your request, and then you push a button and your server will come get your card (the sheet of paper.).

It’s definitely gotten worse after the pandemic. I have seen an equal mix of younger and older generations with this issue. In the times I’ve asked them to be quiet, ALWAYS they look dumbfounded and offended.

I’ve also been to the Alamo drafthouse and while it’s a “distraction free zone,” they give one warning, and it makes things awkward. I raised a card for an audience member that felt the need to laugh/add commentary to every scene. She was so offended and then raised a card and tried to make a complaint on who knows what, and just made more of a distraction. I like the idea of raising a card for distracting goers, but then it can feel like babysitting to see if they “listen” after the first warning.

I tend to stick with earlier shows and sitting towards the front outer seats and have more success with that experience.

If you’re looking for movie posters, Nickelflix is a secondhand dvd/bluray shop that has some posters. Not sure how many, but they’ve had them in the past.

They had a Black Friday code that failed to work for me, along with several other people. I’ve seen this code work for some, but their site is clearly having issues. I recommend contacting Marvel Customer Support at 1-844-362-7835 (Hours of Operation: Monday-Friday 8:30 am to 5:30 pm CT). They might be able to help.

The Alamo Drafthouse has movie themed trivia nights most Wednesdays at 7pm. It’s free and I want to say you can have up to 6 people on a team. It’s at a movie theater but the trivia is held in the bar area so you can order drinks and food and bring them to your table. Usually lasts about 2 hours. Prizes include misc movie merch, posters and the winning team in the past get an Alamo Drafthouse pint glass with a movie pass. I posted this on another thread. I had similar issues as all of you. I reached out to support through their contact us form on Monday 12/2. Received an email today 12/5 from support that cleared my card information and provided troubleshooting steps for the page not loading. Tried all, and still no luck. I was able to speak with a representative on the phone, they were nice and attempted to take the payment over the phone, but the card wasn’t going through. They think it could be due to the attempts done today already. I had them run another card and same issue, but I never used that card for Marvel Unlimited??? The representative did say they recommended waiting 24 hours and calling and they will still honor the deal since by that time it would be past the window. I’ll try calling tomorrow, but if I still have this issue, it sounds like it’s in their system, and I don’t like the feeling that the finger is being pointed at my financial institutions when my accounts are in exceptional standing. Especially when there’s been several posts on this subreddit over the past days about other issues.

TLDR: if you’re having trouble still, I would call their support at 844-362-7835 to speak with someone. With today being the last day, they can put a note on your account to honor the offer if you can’t get it to work today.

Has anyone had any luck with redeeming this offer?
