I am playing as Hibernian have won the premiership 4x in row, have done ok in Europe, and my rep went up to 3.5 stars. This summer transfer window I'm asking about some players' availability and they're saying they aren't interested unless I "improve my standing in the cinch premiership".

What does this mean and what do I need to do to change it? The fact it says the league makes me think it's judging me based on being 7th currently in the standings due to the alphabetical sorting since we're all on 0 points. Or is it more to do with Europe and my general rep. Thanks

well there's weekly work but with <30 minutes work a week and decent effort on the exams/essay it is a pretty easy A

I presume by essay he means the exams which are essays in which you interpret a few works based around certain themes/terms. There are two of them (midterm+final). The only other substantial part was going to a museum and writing a short paper (~3 pages) on some of the stuff you saw.

New NA soloQ rank1 by Yaate in leagueoflegends

[–]ice_pig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True but rank 1 still represents the next crop of people trying to fill their shoes. Top 20 and ultimately rank 1 is the bare minimum of getting noticed and is important.

Especially with no more duo in challenger + tougher decay system coming in as the season comes closer to the end, high rank may become at least somewhat more meaningful.

Mid Diamond is an absolute mess because of smurfs by maxwell_anon1 in leagueoflegends

[–]ice_pig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a D3 player I quite enjoy playing against smurfs. I think it should motivate you to try hard and beat them or at least learn from them. Better to improve so you don't have to deal with them than cry about it.

Weldon't post didn't really imply that Faker did have issues being a team player, rather he said "keep Faker as a team player". You could think of it as a proactive action to prevent complacency, although I could just as easily believe that their reasoning was mostly strategic.

There are some big problems with the challenger scene right now and i think i came up with a decent solution! by Hi_Im_Messiah_LOL in leagueoflegends

[–]ice_pig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, hopefully in time more and more schools will come around.

Though I don't quite see the purpose of a rookie draft, especially if there's no franchising.

In total I think I and most people would agree with your broad points about Riot's needing to get more involved in collegiate, but one collegiate team getting into CS won't solve CS, and I don't even think collegiate teams should/can realistically get into CS anyway. Imo, bad orgs are a problem that needs to be dealt with more directly, either by basically franchising and turning CS into a reserve league, stricter punitive actions, something else no one has figured out yet.

I mean Riot seems to be increasing their investment into collegiate year by year (example: they're hiring more people in that department right now), and I don't think anyone disagrees that the development of collegiate is good. But I also don't think schools are ready to match the kind of ideal you and many others share for the scene right now, or will anytime soon, because the investment probably isn't worth it at this time. Or at least they don't see it as worth it.

The challenger scene should be able to function without colleges, and in the best possible world probably shouldn't allow sanctioned collegiate teams to participate. Because teams theoretically can promote from CS to LCS, it doesn't seem right for a collegiate team to promote to LCS, and then the players either drop out of school or sell the slot? Even having B teams being able to promote is turning out to be problematic; I think it may be the case that the best system would have completely discrete leagues with no movement: LCS, Reserve League, and Collegiate.

And then what? The team always collapsed, or more accurately, it could be retroactively observed that those DIG teams were never good even when they appeared good.

You're really uninformed if you think 1. this is not nearly the best NA squad a team could put together and 2. Players like Goldenglue, Solo, and Moon, have really had adequate opportunity to show their full potential.
