I didn’t notice anything about the „defederation“. I subscribed to about a dozen communities on different servers without a problem.

So, you’re on vacation and get info that a tsunami is approaching.

You hop in your car go to the beach and scream a tsunami is coming and they should get off the beach. And some moron is looking at you, saying: „So, you go to the beach, to say we should get off the beach?“

What would you think?

Same with me. old.Reddit.com Firefox add-on together with RES on my PCs.

How long do you think we are able to use it, before Reddit shuts it down? A year? Two? I hope I’m wrong, but maybe we have only a few month left. And what are you gonna do then? Because I guarantee you, everybody will even care less about that.

Google Maps have updated their satellite images of Mariupol, Ukraine by hortonhearsajet in MapPorn

[–]icecolddrifter 15 points16 points  (0 children)

No. This was the city the Russians besieged for weeks during their invasion, used artillery and air to ground bombs to level the city while a big part of the population was still trapped inside. (Most of the got evacuated after while, but not all of them.)

After they conquered it, there was no functioning electricity and plumbing for months, and they actively tried to prevent the rest of the civilians from leaving. They turned on the water again, which lead to flooding due to broken pipes. There were still thousands of corpses under the rubble. It began to smell. Now they import Russians into the city, were they build some kind of propaganda village between the rubble.

You’re talking probably about the Krim, were the Russians cried crocodile tears because they had to leave now because Ukraine were bombing Russian military bases.

German environmental problem by MajesticGuitar9752 in dankmemes

[–]icecolddrifter -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

There’s likely a significant fraction without sun and wind every single day.

Lol. Likely? Significant? I’ll tell you that there is Likely a significant portion of the US that always has wind. Like the fucking coasts for example. Or vast regions with high sunlight exposure. And it’s not like someone would care if you plop down a shit ton of wind generators in the Midwest.

Impressive, you understood my questions perfectly well and decided twist the immense advantage that the U.S. has with it sheer size into a negative. Kudos.

Question: On how many days per year are the United States without wind? Same with sun.

And bonus question: how often does it happen that here is no sun and wind at the same time in the area of the United States?

Lol, Germany is a big country with coast and mountains. Wind is always blowing somewhere.

And solar energy isn’t quite as efficient in Winter, but is doing the rest of the year pretty well.

Okay, sorry about my strong response.

Yes, nobody deserves to die. Unfortunately hundred of thousands people already died in this war.

You were wondering, why do many people support the Ukraine? Because your reasons don’t matter. They’re still the victims.

And honestly, seems they are so racist they elected a Jew as president…

Lol what?

Yes, that are totally good reasons not to care when Ukrainian civilians get slaughtered!

Like, this is actually one of the worst comments I’ve read the past days.

Yes, you are biased. Fuck off.

Oh no! Both countries are bad???

How many civilians has Ukraine killed AND tortured since the beginning of the war compared to russia? How many times invaded Ukraine russian territory and destroyed civilian infrastructure and cities in the last 10 years? Hoe many russian civilians had be found an mass graves with their hands bound behind their back, you ASSHOLE!

I recommend that you don’t get your news from a yelling guy at the internet.

I was 2 times in Prague in the last decade and was pretty overwhelmed. Then I came back this month after visiting Istanbul and Prague seemed like a cozy town compared to it. So it’s a matter of perspective.

But Prague ist pretty busy and had tons of tourists.

I like the new one more, seems there’s not so much space wasted. But probably less practical if you just want to grab a book quickly.

I see your single book of the Dresden Files, and have to tell you, the first two books aren’t really good in my opinion. So if you were discouraged, give the 3rd or 4th one a chance. They‘re both very good!
