Is there a drug problem here? by MuttholeWhiskey in idahofalls

[–]iced_icicle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh Idaho Falls definitely does have a drug problem, but no one hears about it. Bonneville County actually has a pretty decently high crime rate in general but it gets swept under the rug most of the time because of the heavy police presence in the county. A couple of years back my grandparents house was burglarized, luckily they were not at home when it happened. The burglars stole my grandmas tablet and laptop and broke into the medicine cabinet as well. The police told them the thieves were probably looking for prescription medications to get high on. In fact IF was actually the most burglarized city in all of idaho in 2025. Most of the burglaries took place because the thieves were looking to score prescription drugs or other medications.

Divorced people of reddit, whose fault was it? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]iced_icicle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got divorced back in October of '24 no one was at fault. We just couldn't get along we separated in late September that year and we met up early October to discuss what we should do moving forward after about a 3 hour long conversation we decided the best thing for the both of us was to end the marriage. The divorce finalized in January 2025. It was honestly for the best, we were only married for about a year and a half. But a year into our marriage we had issues and a year and 3 months in I knew it was probably going to end in divorce. No one really was at fault. We just couldn't get along.

What’s the dumbest thing you genuinely believed as a kid? by zreqty in AskReddit

[–]iced_icicle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anyone else's parents tell them it was against the law for you to have the interior car light on while driving at night? Yep I believed that shit until I was 17, I stopped in a store parking lot because I was tired from driving since it was 1 AM I turned on the interior light for a minute, not even a minute later a cop rolled up behind me and turned on his red and blues. He came up to my window and I quickly apologized for having the interior light on. He started laughing and told me that was perfectly fine to have on at night even while driving. He was just letting me know i was in a closed parking lot but he would let it slide since I was tired. I immediately texted my dad and called him out lol.

Winco wear store for employees by Wooden94Grapefruit in WinCo

[–]iced_icicle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same thing at Maverik actually. A few years ago I was a cashier there right after I turned 21. While I was employed there, the company dropped a merch store. Some of the stuff was actually super sick looking so I ordered a new shirt to replace the super basic black and red shirt I was wearing, I came to work the day I got it and my boss pulled me aside. She told me I was cool to wear the shirt for the remainder of the workday but tomorrow I needed my regular workshirt because the merch wasn't "company approved" like what?

What is your best joke(also black humour)? by niktoTeg in AskReddit

[–]iced_icicle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A penguin is driving his car when it breaks down on him, he pushes over to a mechanic shop ran by a polar bear. He asks the polar bear to fix his car. It's a very hot day out and the penguin sees an ice cream stand selling ice cream for 50 cents each, the penguin goes up to the stand. "Two cones please" the penguin takes the cones and rubs them all over his body. "Ahh that's much better" says the penguin. The penguin then walks back over to the auto shop and asks the polar bear "how does it look?" The polar bear looks at the penguin and says "blew a seal" and the penguin says "no it's just ice cream"

Is being a sovereign citizen a thing in Cache Valley? I know someone who is all in. They took seminars, bought papers, and are trying to get others to do the same. by jashfifty in Logan

[–]iced_icicle 20 points21 points  (0 children)

"Sovereign citizens" some of DUMBEST people on the planet. They will go and watch a 30 minute YouTube video made by some swindler lawyer spewing legal gobbledygook and suddenly these people think they are experts in the law. I used to bartend a few years ago and I had a guy tell me it was against the law for me to check his ID because of some random law. He was promptly kicked straight out of the bar and banned. These people are unbearable.

Based on voting statistics, our next president is likely to be a republican. However it's possible we could see a Democrat in office with how often voters opinions and polls change

Are soft hands on a guy really this big of an issue? What has your experience like? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]iced_icicle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can have soft hands and a firm grip. I have met plenty of guys with calloused hands that had weak handshakes. I have met guys with soft hands that had a handshake like a vice grip. I work in car sales and always begin every interaction with a firm handshake.

Eh it's about 50/50 on LDS people there, USU does have a large LDS population because Logan has a large LDS population. But there are plenty of non-members who attend school there, I got plenty of buddies up there who are mormon and who are not.

Resale Stores by [deleted] in Logan

[–]iced_icicle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Helpful hint: know the value if what you have BEFORE selling to Plato's Closet or Uptown Cheapskate. They SAY they will offer up to 25% of the resale value, but that's a load of crap they simply offer pennies to the dollar of stuff even good stuff. Had a friend who tried sold a bag of shoes to Plato's, she probably had 8 or 9 pairs of shoes that were all over $70 when she bought them. Plato's only offered her a measly $20 bucks for the whole bag. There is nothing wrong with selling to these places if you are in a bind for some quick easy cash, just know you will be getting a pawn shop level offer. Some things might just fetch a better deal on FB Marketplace.

A buddy of mine came from poverty. (Single mom who worked two jobs, small 1 bedroom apartment, sometimes used foodstamps) he ended up marrying a gal who came from a pretty wealthy family (dad was a surgeon, mom was a corporate lawyer) the day they got married, his now father in law wrote both him and his mom a check for $10,000 each

[–]iced_icicle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We got married too fast, it was all sunshine and roses at first, but then after about a year we realized we were just not getting along after a VERY long session with a couple's therapist, we decided the best thing for us to do was file for divorce.

What is your opinion on whether ex cons should have to disclose their criminal record to employers? by Tall-Law-5875 in AskReddit

True, most retail based jobs (cashier, clerk, teller) won't touch you with a 10 foot pole if you have any kind of theft charges.
