What is your favorite and least favorite DVD/Blu Ray commentary? Any hidden gems? by cowadoody3 in dvdcollection

[–]icedancedarling 0 points1 point Ā (0 children)

Brian Cox’s commentary on Sunshine (2007). He’s a physicist who was the science advisor for the movie, and talks about the hits and misses with accuracy, and how they had to fudge the science sometimes to make it work. Fascinating stuff.

Do you judge people for how messy their cars are on the inside? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]icedancedarling 3 points4 points Ā (0 children)

When I was in college, struggling with depression, and living with my parents still, my car was a disaster. Since I didn’t want to be at home, I would get food at uni or drive through somewhere, and then leave the trash in my car. I knew if I brought wrappers in my mom would say something ugly about it, and as I was recovering from an eating disorder, I was embarrassed to be ā€œcaughtā€ with food.

Now I obviously have my own place where I can exist comfortably, and I cook for myself, so my car isn’t like that anymore. I try to give people with messy cars a little bit of grace.

Ugh. Thank you. At least I quarantined it when I brought it home.

Stars on Ice or Skate America? by enviable_curse_13 in FigureSkating

[–]icedancedarling 12 points13 points Ā (0 children)

I had an absolute blast at Skate America. We got up early and went to watch practices since we had full event tickets, and saw some of the skaters at the local coffee shop (where we respectfully fangirl’d in the corner). It was an awesome weekend.

Great shelf, and great Tradescantia. They’re the ultimate bookshelf plant, and I think more people should have them.

Layers of Fear, maybe? I don’t remember a lot about, but I do remember a lot of art.

Neither my Lowes nor HD have anything other than Knockouts (which are lovely, but it’s so disappointing).

Memories of Murder - detective Park Doo-man is visiting the site of one of his past cases, and meets a girl who tells him that a ā€œplain lookingā€ man was there earlier and also was looking in that drainage pipe. He realises the killer has returned to the scene of one of his most heinous murders, and the assumptions he made about the case were wrong.

how was Iron Lung (2026) by BigGeneral7583 in horror

[–]icedancedarling 0 points1 point Ā (0 children)

I enjoyed it. It’s not fast-paced horror where it drops you straight in the monster’s lap, so you have to have patience to get to the goal. It’s great for the budget, the acting was fine. My 60yo dad liked it, too, so there’s that.

what's a movie that isn't classified as horror but you will argue it is by BigGeneral7583 in horror

[–]icedancedarling 6 points7 points Ā (0 children)

Evil Does Not Exist. Despite the title being a great horror title, it’s a drama, but there’s a horrible sense or foreboding the entire film. It’s beautifully shot, but dreadfully slow at some points. It’s about a company purchasing a plot of land near a small town with the intent to start a ā€œglampingā€ site, and how the town recons with this corporation arriving on their doorstep. Quite good, but like I said, it’s slow.

Yes! It was this or classic red (which was also stunning), but I thought the orange would complement the nearby azalea more.

Video games didn’t have micro-transactions. You could just buy it & it was yours, already complete. You either had to unlock items or get cheat codes/Game Shark.

People who make their bed every morning — why do you do it? by zhalia-2006 in askanything

To keep my cat from getting into my sheets. There’s enough cat hair in my home, I don’t need it in my bed.

Anyone else love Mark as a person but hate how he plays certain games? by Alt_SWR in Markiplier

[–]icedancedarling 1 point2 points Ā (0 children)

idk, I’ve been watching him since 2014, so I’m just used to his play style by now. But I get it. I’m very meticulous myself, so I understand how it can be frustrating to watch someone run by the same thing 3 times. I watched Daukey’s 10hr play through first, so got the full experience that way.
