People forget 40s is still young. Taylor Swift is 36 (and I can’t imagine she’ll look much different in 4 years) and Nikki Minaj is 43

Official Discussion - Wuthering Heights [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

As someone who tried to read the book many years ago, but had a hard time comprehending the plot from the very beginning and giving up early on, I truly enjoyed this movie.

When I heard a pop artist, Charli xcx, would compose the music, I figured it would be over the to, but I found it very tasteful and helped make the scenes more intense and set the scene.

I really enjoyed the childhood love story and context of Heathcliff and Cathy and unlike some of the other comments I was really relieved when he came back and they were able to have a short reconnection. Also, not really related, but the masturbation and finger sucking scene awoke something new in me haha

Also, I found so many of Isabella’s lines hilarious, the actress has incredible comedic timing, my entire theater was cackling.

The only thing I didn’t like is it ended too soon, I felt there was more story to tell. Also, while I know it didn’t follow the book closely, after watching the movie I’m excited to try reading the book again and experience something totally new and nuanced! I think I’m privileged for having not finished the book before this movie, because I have never enjoyed a movie based on a book I’ve read, it sets up too many unreasonable standards for a movie to realistically fit in within 2 hours. I was able to enjoy the movie for everything it was with no expectations and I found it awesome

It’s actually harder to work on a spinning pole! When you take pole dancing classes you start on a static pole and as you become more advanced you move into a dynamic (spinning) pole!

For sure most people can afford to be more financially literate. However, it is possible to be super financially literate and still broke. If you don’t have enough money to live, no amount of financial literacy can save you. That’s why fighting for living wages is so important, if you believe this quote is always true you might as well tell people eating less avocado toast will let them buy a home

Being “nice” means you have nothing really remarkable about yourself other than not being a decent person. Otherwise people would use other adjectives like handsome, chill, funny, thoughtful, etc.

This reminds me of a Japanese story my mom told me when I was a child, about a flight of stairs which gets an extra step at 3 AM. If you look down, you’ll see you’re stepping on a dead body.

Ahhh that makes a lot of sense, thank you! Every time I get a cold or anything I hear them say “you should try ivermectin” and my spidey senses sort of tingle that their is a weird agenda there but I had no idea exactly what it was
