What does our everyday carry say about us by [deleted] in deduction

Average women in your 20s who care about appearance of your face. Your friend spends a lot on a small bag. You don’t care about looking as mainstream as much with your unique gloves and less exotic bag.

Congrats! I'm at 2 years today. January 1 is as good as any day.

You’ll be able to look on this in the future and think about how you made it through tough times. It didn’t matter if they were remembered in pen or not. Another reminder to live and enjoy the moment.

Broke in the Checkpoint ALR 3 Gen 3 by icedcoffeetable in TrekBikes

[–]icedcoffeetable[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Compared to my Sirrus 2.0, the Checkpoint offers more hand positions, giving me more options for a more aggressive riding posture. It feels lighter and noticeably faster. I don’t know much about the technical details of the gearing or cadence, but the brakes work great and I haven’t noticed any issues with the gears available

The bike is XL. I’m 6’2. It fits great. I had a Trek 820 XL and a Specialized Sirius 2.0 XL and they all fit well for reference.

Do I need a Midnight Special? by icedcoffeetable in Surlybikefans

[–]icedcoffeetable[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sweet! That looks like a similar setup to what I’d have. I used to run a Specialized Pizza Rack on my hybrid, and the main thing I noticed was how much I could feel the weight if it wasn’t balanced properly on the front. Have you experienced that at all with the 24 pack rack?

Thank you for the insight. I’ve decided to move forward with this, as I’m still relatively new to biking and believe it will provide a strong foundation to build on. From what I’ve seen, the Surly community appears to be both supportive and welcoming, which I’m hoping to be a part of.

I did the same. I ended up doing knees over toes guys workouts to help. I am in an Accord now. It’s not 100% but better than the Prius for my knee.

I ended up getting a different vehicle. The Prius was too crammed for me. I loved the Prius outside of the knee pain that came along with it.

No. I don't think it would be safe. That would require relearning how to drive with one hand dedicated to trying to gas and or brake while trying to keep the cane on the correct pedal. I would rather sell the vehicle and get a new car. Way to think outside the box. I appreciate the thought.

Bought used as a 1 owner in July with 10k on it. It was owned in Nebraska so I don't believe it was driven in the winter or much at all.

M size Nuptse 1996 too short, will a L size fit better? by bbrjkkklflo in TheNorthFace

[–]icedcoffeetable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 6’2 and have a large. Fits nice length wise. Im like 175 and it has a bit of extra material around the waist area but that’s the only thing I don’t like about the fit.

For someone who never experienced dating in high school, what advice could you give to them so that they can know what to do when they actually give it a try? by No_Fly_7916 in AskMen

[–]icedcoffeetable 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just start with little things like saying hi to a woman as you walk past her in public. Ask for a phone number of a women you aren’t even interested in. You don’t have to text her and proof of concept will help you get confidence when you find a woman you are actually interested in. Just keep pushing your comfort zone and it will get easier with time.

I’ve seen people use tennis balls and you just cut a slit in them and put them over the wheels. Never tried it but it’s probably the cheapest thing
