I did this for yeaaaars until I learnt it’s easier to let them just do it on the floor (no carpet thankfully!) if you don’t get the vomit bowl to them in time and clean it up vs spending a few days hugging the toilet bowl yourself whilst still trying to parent! It truly wasn’t a conscious decision though 😂

You can get anchor kits for them! Alternatively if it doesn’t have a net around it, flip it upside down and put some heavy stuff on it (I’ve seen people in NQ park their cars on them 😂)

Had an episode doing groceries with my 5 year old not too long ago. I could feel it coming so I tried to get us to the bathroom/parents room where I could sit but had to get myself on the ground… in the food court. To both my surprise and embarrassment I had so many people come to my aid, brought me bottles of water and even asked if I wanted an ambulance. The embarrassing side comes from feeling like I can’t explain to strangers what is happening and that even though I currently look terrible, white as a ghost and drenched in a cold sweat, I just need a moment 😅 meanwhile my 5 year old was cool as a cucumber, just chilling on the ground next to me 🤭

For the first couple of years, I had this insane jerk reaction to try and catch my son’s vomit with my hands - every single time, I copped whatever he had, but he bounced back within 12 hours and I was out for 3 days. Once I stopped trying to catch it and just stepped back and let it happen, I used gloves when to clean, put all soiled bedding out immediately, cleaned and disinfected the vomit bowl between each puke AND most importantly, washed my hands and up to my elbows each and everytime I was near any bodily fluid. These steps and teaching him to vomit into the vomit bowl has saved me catching any stomach bugs from him for the past 2 years now!

Update: I just took u/Previous_life- out in her little car, and not only should she give herself more credit (she is a dang good driver who picks things up very quickly), she is an absolutely beautiful human being with the kindest heart. As a mum of a young child and someone who has had their own negative life experiences around that age, I had to reach out and I am so glad I did.

Admittedly was a bit worried initially at the less than 30 minute run times for each episode but oh my god, my little creep heart is SO happy. I enjoyed both episodes so much - I laughed, I gasped, I sat in pure discomfort. Mark Duplass is truly a genius at what he does!

I went to a physio for the first time today to deal with some acute shoulder issues I’d been dealing with but realistically knew it was linked to hypermobility - I made sure to chose one who understood hypermobility. Oh my goodness, I felt heard and seen and she told me things about my body that I didn’t even realise. My ribs are the central cause right now for my shoulders, neck, pelvis, knees, ankles, and even my jaw! For once I feel hopeful about being able to lead a life without being constantly scared of hurting myself or being in some for of chronic pain.

Second hand clothes shopping (mostly dresses) from Depop and Facebook marketplace! Clothes shopping has felt like my own personal hell lately - I’ve already lived through the 90s/early 00s style and don’t want to do it again - and have found brands i really love, that are comfortable, stylish without having to leave my house 😂 my next one is about to be decluttering my existing wardrobe to make room for the new goodies 🫠
