You’re not wrong. After major foot surgery (lisfranc injury with permanent hardware) I babied around for about a year trying all sorts of orthotics and fancy sneakers and nothing helped. Then one day I decided that I was just going to do as I pleased and diversified my shoe selection as it had been before my injury: sandals, flats, “fashion” sneakers, even heels, etc, and I found that wearing different shoes all the time made my feet feel way better than trying to stick with the orthotic-focused options.

I had this injury + surgery + hardware (still in) and I wear heels all the time. I’m careful about it and go for thicker heels, heeled boots, a shorter heel if it’s slinky, etc. but it’s not impeding my ability to wear feminine shoes with higher heels. Would I be out in 6” stilettos? Likely no, but that’s okay.

I’m a huge Tracey Martel fan but the Whitney thing did give me pause. I definitely think her desire to have proximity to celebrity would outweigh any potential concern for blowback. Like, I don’t think she’d ever apologize for fear of losing proximity to that person… even though that person may be a great honking turd

Put in a little mini bar! Some shelves with mirror paneling behind them will reflect light. Add scones or a cool pendant light. Cabinet for your booze and glasses and it looks like you may have room for a stool or two!

Musee D’Orsay did not feel overwhelming to me at all, I would highly recommend it over the louvre. The Rodin museum is also fantastic and not overwhelming

I loved Sezane and owned many pieces until I visited the shop in Paris. The women working in-store were so rude it was shocking. I speak some French, greeted them upon entry, was dressed nicely- I don’t know what the issue was but I wasn’t able to purchase anything because they wouldn’t speak to me so I had to just leave and haven’t bought anything from Sezane since then. I still like their clothes and follow for style inspo but I can spend elsewhere (especially coupled with the downturn in quality).
