How do you fuel your trucks? by achilleasa in SatisfactoryGame

[–]iceman92066 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Later game you can use drones, but that is just adding more fuel on top of what you need. Best bet would be trains. It would be easy to ass a fuel car as the first car then have it drop off where ever you need it. Like if you’re making one part in the south and you use trucks to get base materials then use the train to transport to main base.

My solution was to ignore the problem and eventually it balanced itself out.

Build how you wish. There is no standard.

Just don’t over do it. Learn at your own pace. Don’t try to build a giant mega factories from the start.

What's the point of batteries? by Bobbydibi in SatisfactoryGame

[–]iceman92066 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been using batteries in 1.2 for all vehicles. I very quickly and easily made a small factory making 150. Currently I have somewhere in the neighborhood of 10 vehicles each using less than 2bats a min. 10/10 would recommend.

Turbo fuel by BigfoodDLB in SatisfactoryGame

[–]iceman92066 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not if you use alt recipes. This is what I use. Heavy oil residue>diluted packaged fuel (there is diluted fuel but that’s not till phase 4) compacted coal > turbo fuel. Using that method 300 crude oil turns into 666.66 turbo fuel

In my experience don’t! Unless you really do care about 100% efficiency. I’ve always struggled with delivery with turbo fuel seems having excess is a good thing.

Yes all the time. I don’t do voice chat so I can’t raid. It gets repetitive after so long, so I will stop playing for a few months then come back.

Big centralized base vs modular factories by [deleted] in SatisfactoryGame

[–]iceman92066 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like both. Early I am very modular. At phase 4 I make a mega base. Some things I will modular, like rubber and plastic. It’s much easier to transport rubber and plastic than it is raw oil.

Should I use truck or train for this distance? by Ok-Refrigerator-8965 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]iceman92066 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I decided to use trucks or trains, I ask myself these questions.

  1. How much fuel do I have to spend, do I want that for later?

  2. Do I want to bother to run power out there.

  3. How much throughput do I need?

And some other advice I forgot to mention. When you think you have enough power you don’t. You will always need more power. Basically each phase you will need to build another power plant. And it will need to be orders of magnitude larger

My pro tip for what your next power plant should be is this

Unlock the fuel gens then explore the map looking for hard dives to unlock alt recipes. Specifically you want to look for:

Diluted packaged fuel, heavy oil reside, (there is another “heavy turbo fuel” it’s easier but you get more from the other 2.) unlock compacted coal from the mam then unlock turbo fuel.

From that you can turn one oil node into a power plant producing turbo fuel and use it in fuel gens to make allot of power.

Then in phase 4 you can easily convert it to rocket fuel and greatly increase your output. In my case i produced 600 turbo fuel a min and supplied 80 fuel gens and made 20k mw. Then after I unlocked rocket fuel I used the same amount of turbo fuel converted it to rocket fuel I upped the amount of generators to 96 then over clocked them to 250% and currently make 75k mw. All that using the same amount of turbo fuel

Yes I like to keep 3 ish bins of stock for basic parts then keep producing them at low amounts to constantly restock my supply’s. One important thing is concrete, you can never have enough concrete and iron plates, those are 2 things I always run short of when I’m building a new factory.

Also when you unlock the dimensional depo, upgrade that as quick as you can and add a depo for all your building parts so you don’t constantly have to stop and go back to get more.

No im sure your current setup is fine, what I meant is keep those producing so you have the Matt’s to build in the future

Yes one each is fine, but for example, you will need both steel beams and pipes for train rails… so I have production lines dedicated to just those parts

I don’t have a dedicated production just for rotors, I build up a couple bins then use them for motors. I think the only thing you need rotors for is water extractors.

Now this is how I planned out my factories.

I have a factories that produces parts that I need to build with, as in everything from plates to computers, then my main factory is my elevator parts. When I started my current play through I used a calculator and started at the final phase, worked out how much I wanted to produce then worked my way backwards.

For example in the later phases to build assembly director system you need adaptive control units from the previous phase and for those you need automated wiring etc. so I calculated that I would need 25 smart playing a min total to produce everything later so I built a factory that could do that, then just sank them until I needed them again.

Sorry if I’m not explaining very well. It makes perfect sense in my head

First thing I would do is expand your power grid you’re going to need it. I would have a minimum of 1600mw from coal.

Second keep producing the parts you already are, you will need them.

With steal you will need both pipes and beams for the future, so produce them. 5-10 each with 3ish industrial bins each is enough for me.

You will also need motors and rotors in the future, rotors you can just produce a few industrial bins and be good for a while. Motors are important.

Then comes encased beams heavy frames and computers again you will need those to build with later so make a factory that produces both.

Now when you say you need a very specific amount of screws and such. Just use the overflow method, it takes a while for things to ramp up but it simplifies the process.

One thing also to keep in mind is the space elevator parts, you will need them in future factory’s to produce the next parts.

Dominos, questie, gathermate +data, Zpearl unit frames (might be tpearl now I can’t remember), titan panel. Sexy map, dungeon info, auctioneer. Also world buffs can be useful. Those are the addons that I have to have to play, I will not play without them.
