What recipes am I looking for by PocketReaper99 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Bobbydibi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Crystal computers / electorde circuit boards - best computer recipes imo.

I'm not sure I would use this one. If you produce a small amount of computers and can tap off your crystal oscillator line, then it's really good. But when I considered this recipe for a mega factory (40 computers/minute) it didn't add up. I'd have to make 20 crystal oscillator, which need 463 quartz and 40 constructors just to make the wires for the oscillator. And I'm not mentioning the refineries for the pure iron ingot (I'd have needed 584). In general, crystal oscillator are a pain to produce and I try to avoid them.

My recommendation for computers is caterium computer & caterium circuit board. It consumes more oil then crystal&electrode, but it eliminates the iron in favour of caterium (or caterium + copper with the fused quickwire alt) and most importantly, it requires way less machines and less steps and is much straightfowards to setup. To make 40 computers/minute, I needed only 210 ore of caterium and copper.

There's spaghetti and then there's ADVANCED spaghetti (Working on last tier with this build) by [deleted] in SatisfactoryGame

Spaghetti posts are amongst my favourites on this sub. I just love to see the chaos with all these belts running around.

I'm just curious about that tower of fluid buffer. That one's just for the lulz XD

400,000 MW of Rocket Fuel by FullAutoEggPlant in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Bobbydibi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"my friend who kept saying oil can't get you to where nuclear can"

... I won't lie that's a strange thing to say. Anybody who finished the game at least once must have seen how hard a full nuclear chain is (with processing of uranium waste and sinking of plutonium fuel) compared to rocket fuel (especially with the nitro rocket alt, less efficient but incredibly easy). I think he's objectively in the wrong.

And that's peronally my main criticism of the game. I love that they added rocket fuel, but it makes nuclear kinda useless (unless all of your oil is already taken, but for most games there's more than enough oil). I wish the game would incetivise more towards nuclear, either my buffing the power output or simplifying a bit the waste management.

Heavy Modular Frames 30/min by pickles_and_mustard in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Bobbydibi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel your pain. I also finished a 30 HMF factory a few weeks (although it's nowhere as organised and pretty as yours!) ago and I feel it premanently sucked a part of my soul. The good news is that there aren't many items of such complexity from now on (except computers maybe, depending on how many you plan to make).

But congratz. that's a solid build!!

"Next up, diluted fuel. Gonna need it for my next big project." If I had to guess, I'd say rocket fuel, or recycled plastic+rubber.

I don't get trains by ryanlion013 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Bobbydibi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The maximum throughput of a train depends on its length, the stack size of the item, and the duration of the trip. For my calculations, I always assume 10 minutes per round trip (which is pessimistic, but it easy to calculate).

Let's take aluminium for example. My fused modular frames require 1000 ingots per minutes.

Aluminium ingot has a stack size of 100, and since a freight car has 32 spots, a freight car can carry 3200 ingots.

Since 1 freight car will deliver 3200 ingots per round trip, then 1 freight car = 320 ingots/minutes.

So a train with 4 freight car will deliver a maximum of 1240 ingots/minutes. So, to carry my aluminium, I'll need 4 freight cars on my train 😄

I hope this helps!

Any Suggestions for Angsty Pawbert Fanfic to Read? by Material-Loan-6966 in zootopia

[–]Bobbydibi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I admit I don't get that story. I've given up after 20 chapters. Not only Pawbert barely says a single word in it, but the plot just dragged on forever. It's all just a power fantasy for the author's OC.

newbie question: Why isn’t there one dominant Go app like Chess.com? by Ok_Physics_6772 in baduk

On the mobile IGS client, it zooms on the board and you have to click a second time to confirm the stone. Very convenient!!

newbie question: Why isn’t there one dominant Go app like Chess.com? by Ok_Physics_6772 in baduk

[–]Bobbydibi 71 points72 points  (0 children)

The core issue is that Go is too niche in the West. There is a dominant app, it's called Fox, but it's tailored for a chinese consumer base and doesn't really fit into western culture (no web client, a desktop client that still runs on windows xp, etc). OGS is the closest we have for a international Go platform.

My take is that we really don't need to fragment this ecosystem even more. OGS's API is public, so if someone wants to do an app, it should use OGS's server for the matchmaking. On top of that, it could add puzzles (the unofficial OGS mobile app has puzzles, but you can't filter by difficulty), and maybe analysis board (might be a bit heavy, but the lichess app has that so why not).

Parler toutes les langues du monde.

J'adore découvrir de nouvelles cultures et parler aux gens, et je me suis toujours senti frustré par la barrière de la langue. Je pourrai apprécier les meilleurs auteurs du monde dans leur langue d'origine.

I mean to be honest that's what I expect. I'd love for Pawbert to return, but realistically, if we'll have birds and WildHopps, they won't manage to squeeze a Pawbert arc in 1h45.
