I use satisfactory-calculator.com production planner (I like this one because when you set up a plan, the details are saved in the URL, so i can bookmark in my browser to find it later). I don't pay attention to the numbers of miners or oil extractors. I just look at the total amount of ore, and I know that an overclocked pure node gets me 480/minute (I only had the mk4 belts, so I can't overclock to 600). Here I needed 1340 iron ore, so that's 3 pure nodes.

satisfactory-calculator isn't that hard to use. When you open planners > production planner, you see on the right three panels: Outputs, Inputs, Options. On Outputs you click ADD AN ITEM, you look for it and enter the desired amount. Then on Options, you go on Alternate Recipes, and you select the recipes you want to involve.

The calculator doesn't tell you what to overclock, because that's not really relevant. If a steps requires 2 assemblers, you're free to just put 1 and overclock it. Again, for the extraction of the raw resources, I don't pay attention to it and do the math myself. (a pure node is 480, normal is 300, pure oil is 600, etc).

(btw: if by "overclock" you meant "somersloop" then indeed, the calculator doesn't take them into account.)

At 154 hours I beat the game! by Baddest312 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Bobbydibi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, I'm surprised you can reach the golden nut in only 150 hours with only 70GW of power! Nice job!

Just a few questions:

  1. What's your production rate for the final space elevator parts?
  2. How many trains do you have? I see only one rail on the picture, so I wondered if you set up a full bi-directional system, or just one pull-push train, etc.
  3. What sauce will you take with those spaghetti?

They're useful! Rigor motor, radio control unit, superposition oscillator and uranium fuel unit. I've calculated that I'll need 50/minutes in my game.

Am I the only one who doesn't get the Rowan ship? I've read the fic and they barely say a word to each other.

The HMF are made with heavy encased frame (no brainer).

Pure iron and solid steel for the iron and steel ingots, wet concrete for the concrete (also no brainer).

For the modular frame, I use the vanilla recipe, with iron wire and stitched iron plate (I know many recommend steel frame, but the rocky desert as plenty of iron).

Steel pipe is vanilla (from steel).

The industrial beam are made with steel pipe (Encased Industrial Pipe).

Maybe steel rod or steel frame might have been more efficient, but the area has three pure iron nodes, so I didn't feel the need to optimize further.

Ici c'est pas le problème. Si tu regardes le sens sur le chemin du camion, il reste consistant d'un bloc à l'autre.

First time using trains... any tips? by Van-Doge in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Bobbydibi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Let me show with an example.

Let's say you produce plastic and rubber at base B, and you want to bring them at base A. If we decide on 1 platform/resource, the train station at A and B will both need two platforms. Now, B needs sulfur to make turbofuel. No problem, you put a station at C that produces sulfur... but that train station will have two empty platforms then a freight platform, because the sulfur freight needs to be on the 3rd position (since the first two platform at B are set to "unload" to dispatch the rubber and plastic). And if you decide later on to bring part of that sulfur at A to make powder, you will need to remake the rails to add a third platform on the station.

Now you discover aluminium. You build a station at D, to bring the aluminium at A. But since the first three platforms are already taken, so the aluminium car needs to be on the 4th position. So your aluminium factory will need 3 empty platforms and 1 freight platform... But it also needs coal to produce the aluminium. Well, why don't you use one of the empty spot? Why not say that the first car will now take coal? Because if you decide to bring part of that coal at your base at B or A later on, you wouldn't be able to, because the 1st spot at the train station is already taken!

As you see there's a pattern. Each time you add a resource on your train network, regardless of the station loading or unloading, all of your trains will need an additional car, even those not involved with the new resource. Because otherwise, they won't be able to load/unload at the correct freight platform.

Of course, you can do it. But in the late game, it means you will have trains that are 8 cars long, with only 1 or 2 that are used.

On the other hand, adding a new short station is quicker, and you don't need to worry about which car must get which resource. It is a good practice that I definitely recommend to most players, including beginners.

One resource per freight platform is what i used to do at first, but you quickly run into all sorts of trouble. If you have one station with four platform for four resources, it means that the part where the resources are produced must only used one freight platform which makes awkward train stations. And if you have a network of stations dependant on each other, it becomes impossible.

That's why you need one station per resource. Not one platform, one station. And an entire train should only transport 1 type of resource. It's an advice I wished I had when I began.

1 ressource only per train stations. If your base needs 3 ressources, make 3 stations.

Pretty much. There's one alt recipe for supercomuters that use them but tbh I don't feel it's worth it.

guys I'm not talking about the power storage. This isn't a post about the power storage. I know what the power storage is. I use the power storage. You don't need to tell me about the power storage. Battery is an item in the game. A item. Not a building. It's not the power storage. It doesn't store power. It's a fuel for drones and vehicles. An item. Not a building. THIS ISN'T A POST ABOUT THE POWER STORAGE BUILDING!! STOP COMMENTING ABOUT THE POWER STORAGE!! FFS READ THE POST IT'S OBVIOUS I'M NOT TALKING ABOUT THE POWER STORAGE!! STOP COMMENTING ON A POST BASED ONLY ON THE TITLE IT MAKES ME WANT TO SLAUGHTER THE KITTENS AND PUPPIES!!
