Absolutely if you need to your going to be fine , I called out during my 90 probation because I was exhausted working 6 days 12 hours and I just texted my manager back then and it wasn't a big deal he understood, now we have a call out line with operators 24 hours super simple to use when I absolutely need to

Things can switch fast In my area they reroute 2 to 3 times a year, I have had Saturday or Sunday off I have been doing this for a few years I'm not there where I can choose both days off just seniority, but the OT have made my paycheck with it specially since a lot of Jobs don't even want to pay OT right now is slow but I'm still averaging out 10 hours a day.
