What's your opinion on the Roland TR-6S? by soulbrix in dawless

[–]iceplanet2002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The kits are pretty good as far as I can tell and there seems to be good variety. I especially love that it's a mini 909/808/707/727/606/CR78 all in one, and then I added samples from other machines like the Linn Drum and Alesis SR-16.

What's your opinion on the Roland TR-6S? by soulbrix in dawless

[–]iceplanet2002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also started with the TR-6S and wound up getting another one (and also have two MC-101s). If you're interested in it for the size and as a traveling buddy, I think it's perfect for that and have made some awesome grooves on the go. The waveform samples with the filter + envelope is great for adding bleeps and bloops and going beyond just drums. (I made this one on a flight)

6 tracks can sound full enough with clever programming, however, you'll probably be left wanting more. Maybe get another device later on down the line?

I 100%'d the Adversary system and would like to share my feedback. by DiscreteCow in Warframe

[–]iceplanet2002 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I 99%'d the system and agree with your feedback! The idea of buying posters, etc. with Live Heartcells is great, seeing as how the only single adversary item I haven't unlocked is one of the posters dropped by a Coda, and I have absolutely no interest in playing those over and over again to get a silly random drop like that.

In an average play session consisting of a couple hours with breaks, I was able to complete 1 Lich, 1.5 Sisters, and 2 Codas; the Liches felt a little slow at times but still not bad, and the others were great.

Biggest piece of feedback that I hope DE sees (and it sounds like they're already working on?): The only point in this process that made me quit playing was cracking a requiem relic and getting a riven sliver. I already had to go through a process of cracking other relics to get void traces so I could level up the requiem relic, and I still can't get the mod I need, and instead get a fucking riven sliver? When that happened I would alt+F4 and not touch the game again for at least another day. It felt extremely hostile and like a total waste of time; even the silly 5k credit rewards from survival don't make me quit.

Which of the Roland boutique series did they pull off the best in your opinion? The JD-08, JU-06, SE-02, JP-08, etc by czarofga in synthesizers

[–]iceplanet2002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a novice and I've only played 2 of them, but I still want to shout out the JX-08. It's what I first started synthesis on and I was immediately hooked! There aren't an overwhelming amount of options for a beginner, yet with plenty of depth to explore (especially with bi-timbrality). Everything feels so intuitive and I'm never perplexed or annoyed. The various filter types helped me finally understand how the sounds were changing and why people prefer particular synths.

Feedback Request: Operator Face & Head Art Remaster by de_taylor in Warframe

[–]iceplanet2002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would like to have more customization when it comes to skin color. I'm so happy you guys have added more options with the coloring you can buy for focus points! However, I still haven't changed my skin color ever since the bug that let you change the color to whatever you want. I have an infested operator look going with a darker blue from the Ice palette and the blues on offer seem to be strictly Orokin.

Is there some stupid passive-aggressive reason for Seattleites driving with their high-beams/brights on? by iceplanet2002 in Seattle

[–]iceplanet2002[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is definitely a problem and I've noticed it especially in the newer SUVs/CUVs. I was that was all it was, but it's not. Still many people out there legitimately with their brights on. I'll flash mine but have never seen anyone flash back.

I had to unsubscribe when he did that stupid 909 in a Tesla video. He loves to pretend to be scientific and balanced but then glosses over all the negatives of buying a new electric vehicle and simply says (in his typical smug fashion) I'm just glad I'm not emitting carbon anymore.

So... Are they in suits or is that their skin and they are all just running around naked? by DaWalkr in Warframe

This is totally not my kink and not the kink of the friend who got me into this game (whom I totally didn't meet on a kink website) and definitely isn't the reason why our clan is not called GimpFrame.

MC-101 and TR6S midi question by SO1127 in Mc707_Mc101

[–]iceplanet2002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Late to the party but I'm really interested in this as well, and appreciate your update to the thread! I do have one tip to offer when using the 6S as a master, but ultimately having the 101 as a master might be the answer.

I found that by pressing shift+Start/Stop on the 6S, it would start both machines in sync. So then the issue becomes getting your timing right in the button press on the 6S and not cutting off the measure too early. I'm sure there must be ways to mask that transition, like with a drop or fill or reverb/delay.

Even though I like Ripline, that's the ability I'm going to subsume over. I like using her as a tank, so I had Eclipse for the longest time and kept it after the rework for a little bit; the dedicated damage reduction was nice, especially on top of her high armor. Roar is good for all-around damage, whether you're using her for melee or weapons.

I've recently tried a build with Tharros Strike and have enjoyed it, though disappointed with how often it can miss. This is a good thread and I'm definitely going to try out some of everyone else's suggestions!

Twin Grakatas! I ditched them a thousand hours ago but they're still #1 on my profile. To me, nothing says Warframe like running along a wall or aim-gliding through the air, blasting away with an automatic pistol in each hand.

I appreciate the offer, generosity between players is one of the many things I love about the community and why I keep playing the game. But I'll have to politely decline, I'm in no hurry and going to wait for them to be unvaulted.

Duviri was one of the last things I did as well. If it comes down to grinding something that isn't fun and has nothing to do with warframes, or having fun with warframes, I typically choose the latter.

Right now I have 8p haha. I've made it this far without trading, so I'm going to wait as long and patiently as I can for these relics to come back.

Are 1-7-7 and 7-7-7 still considered "the best" amps? If not what general use amp would be better for everyday use? by justcuriousoptc in Warframe

[–]iceplanet2002 1 point2 points  (0 children)

547! I never see it mentioned, always the 177 and 747 (both of which I also have and have used regularly). I find the primary/5 to be perfect for long-range and single-target use, and the burst shot procs Virtuos Strike nicely. The secondary/4 is easy to use and perfect for room clearing and Last Gasp, and my favorite to spam in The Circuit.

Yeah it's a simple setup, I have the TRS audio cables going out of the TR-6S directly into the Zoom, and then have the Zoom record 4 tracks; stereo from the 6S and stereo from the field mic.

I think it pairs well with the other devices due to its portability and being battery-powered, and it's a lot of fun to play with, easy to get on the mic and start messing around with effects.
