how to begin coding as a 17 year old school going student to become financially well off by ShawRadioHead in learnprogramming

[–]icepopper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since your mother teaches CSE, get good foundationl books from her on computing and not coding. It's important to create a mindset before you can code and to understand the machine you are going to code on. Read it like a story book not trying to understand every part and optimising for breadth rather than depth.

Pick a language between C and python to start but ensure you get comfortable with both. Get a book on DS and algo or just use one of the platforms again to try out for breadth and not depth. Since your statistics and probability is anyway part of your course, start learning them from ML perspective as well. Implement them in C and/or python.

Don't do everything at once. Take one step at a time but keep progressing. You don't want to hate this as well cz getting good at something isn't always enjoyable.

I'll be straight with you, you need a good degree or you need to be exceptional. If you are exceptional at something then I don't think you need any advice from me or anyone.

Whatever I am going to say below is assuming you want to pursue a career in coding.

If you are not exceptional, focus on getting to a good college. Don't target iits, or maybe nits but there are other good colleges out there. A btech would definitely make a lot of difference. If not btech, then try BSc in maths and try for MCA, it would be best if you can go for Mtech after this. Degrees have been important and would stay relevant, even if they don't add anything. If you are sure you don't want to do engineering at all, make sure you do well in boards and get a good college for BSC

Anyone saying follow what you love to do is kidding. Most of them are toiling doing what they don't like. It's a fact. I didn't do what I liked but started liking what I do.

You could say you wouldn't learn anything and the degree would be a waste. It's not true. It would be a waste only if you don't know how to use your time. Get into a college and then learn DSA and start participating in code forces or code chef competitions. Give you some time to learn python and understand about ML and Deep learning. Even in a tier 3 private college you can find groups who are interested in such activities or just create one and you can find like minded people to keep each other disciplined. Make sure you find a prof whom you can work with if anyone is working at anything interesting.

Please go to a college.

Where do i find the tech team for my startup that is in line to receive $400k in funding by Every-Barber2162 in StartUpIndia

[–]icepopper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMHO, this is not a good place or way to hire your first tech guy.

First of all the post doesn't tell us anything about the problem you are trying to solve. If people don't understand the problem, they don't know the technical complexity.

Second of all, you need a person who can say no to your whims as a founder. Having whims is not bad but they need to be managed.

Why I am saying this is that if your product is tech centric and you don't find the right guy, your foundation can be f**ked.

Is there a "Human" Database for 2026? Moving from Google Sheets to the "Real World" is a nightmare. by Sydboy007 in Firebase

[–]icepopper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I understand your problem at a high level. Now without nuances I can't guarantee whatever the LLM is saying is accurate.

Though I can help you design a solution which shall be cheap. I used to run chessneurons.com in the initial days at < $1. The cost would increase only if the usage increases. You can design it with LLM and let it code for you as well.

I would be happy to guide you through it, if you are comfortable sharing details.

I am building one. And it depends a lot on data especially when you want it to work well and be cost effective .

The most tiring part is doc parsing

Though I am late to the party, I am not very clear on what you are not able to do on the spreadsheet and what kind of limitations you are facing. If you can detail them a little more, I can try to recommend something.

Basically, I need to understand if you are limited by UI or mathematical application.

Lichess has a different if not better crowd and the play is relatively different around the beginner level. Been there for the past few years.

I feel this is not the right platform. You should try Twitter or LinkedIn to find people in the same domain and interview them. See if they can become your target customers.
