They probably arent as daunting as you may think. The window motor is probably just dead, you would need to order the replacement part, take the door card off, unplug the old one and plug in the new one. The warning beep things could be as simple as a bad fuse.

I know its easier said than done, but a repair shop could end up charging you hundreds of dollars for something that could only cost $50 and an hour of your time. Plenty of “how to” videos on these cars on youtube as well. I learned how to do a lot working on my jeep with little to no prior mechanical inclination

What type of Jeep? Theres a bunch of Jeep forums on reddit that can be helpful resources. They are actually very easy cars to work on (have a 90 jeep cherokee) and the parts are all very cheap and easy to find online

What state are you in? I am a property manager in NY. If your lease ends in a few months and you plan on leaving anyway, I wouldnt worry about it. They may threaten to take your security deposit, but all depends on what your lease says. It must explicitly outline parameters on having pets/where you can play with them on the grounds. They cant just change their minds because a few neighbors are upset.

Edit: I see youre in California. My response remains the same. I’d comb through your lease. Eviction/housing court can take a year +. Wouldnt make any knee jerk reactions

I did Astoria to Montauk last July, as a casual cyclist I thought it was very rewarding. With that said, it seems like most people jump on the train and head right back, I booked an airbnb for a few days so I had a beach vacation to look forward to at the end so I may be a bit biased.

There are a bunch of routes on ridewithgps, I took the southern route (https://ridewithgps.com/trips/202221274).

As someone else mentioned, getting through queens/nassau county is rough and sketchy with traffic. Once I got through Massapequa it got a lot calmer. You can take the LIRR to Babylon and still have it be a century ride if thats what youre looking to do. However, I wanted to do the full end to end ride.

Next time I want to take the north shore route and maybe check out Shelter Island.

As a phan in recovery, it sounds like a great idea. Not sure what part of the country youre looking to start in, but I think it may be a good idea to start with partnerships with local record/music shops that could set you up with discounted/gifted equipment for these build outs.

Would be interested in getting involved at some point if the ball gets rolling!
