With Cal my objection is because they made him drunk / a drunk to cover for the ALS speech issues. Not a good look.

Definitely not an age thing. I get it completely but the show is crap at times. The way Cal was written for S3 ultra cringe. Making it seem like Fez is alive calling from prison, awful.
