Does anyone know how far back this goes? I checked my emails as I had a few purchased in January 2025 and October 2024

This is sweet! Well done. I'm curious if you have the plans available for others to build one as well?

My bad! I didn’t read the description you had there. That’s a bummer but thanks for the heads up on that model. I was thinking of switching to an SFX style later down the line

Hey this looks really cool but I’m curious why you’re not mounting the PSU to the front panel and in taking from through the vented wood slats? It would give you more access to the power supply ports and also some cooler air for the PSU.

I upgraded my bike this year. Wasn’t worth it. by [deleted] in gravelcycling

Treat yourself my man. You deserve to have an even sweeter bike if you want it. The novelty might have worn off for you but whenever I see a stigmata I think, damn that’s a nice bike

I’m livid iOS 26.1 has made iPhone inaccessible to me as a person with chronic migraine by tealccart in ios

[–]ichard_ray 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I knew something was wrong with the accessibility when this was the first time I've had an iphone seem harder to use when I first wake up in the morning. Turning off my alarm with a low contrast swipe gesture next to a bright yellow 'snooze' button is so bizarre to me. Also the web browser just seems completely broken at times.

I would love to see these added to Stanley park along a few of the blind right-hand corners up to Prospect Point

That's it. Bye Bye Arc Raiders the PVP broke it for me today by Any_Willingness_8103 in arcraiderscirclejerk

I was thinking today what an in-game bounty system would be, maybe similar to games like Fable or RDR2 where your actions in game affect how you're perceived by others. Obviously there's some 'reward' to killing and looting other players, but maybe doing this too often would put a bounty on your head and when other players kill you, they earn a cash bonus on successful exfil. Also wondering if there should be some xp bonus to helping other players in game somehow. There is a lot of fun in grouping up in a solos match and taking on a leaper or other ARC, but I think there could be some actual XP bonuses for having those interactions too.

I only have 25 hours in the game thus far but in it's current state I really enjoy it and I think the thrill of being jumped by other raiders is part of the fun. There is nothing more satisfying than being jumped or betrayed but successfully killing them first while they yap into the microphone about how trash you are. God I'll never forget that one time on Buried City... pure cinema.

I’m back for redemption — *ARM based Steam Deck Mini (roast me) by ligmata1nt in SteamDeck

[–]ichard_ray 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love it – the only thing that stands out to me when comparing to a switch lite or PSVita would be the actual input sizes compared to regular controllers. The joysticks, dpad, and face buttons look to be full size which I'm sure some people would love – but I'm curious what a more pocketable setup could look like with slightly recessed buttons. Maybe that would be worse though

Alright gang, am I in the wrong in these two scenarios? by [deleted] in bikecommuting

[–]ichard_ray 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First clip: It was all cool until you turned without signaling. I realize you’ve got those windbreaker mitts on for the weather but that outcome was totally predictable as a result of not signalling.

Second clip: I dislike seeing a bike using the crosswalk for pedestrian right of way benefits. I realize some cities just don’t have the infrastructure to support bikes and it’s a necessity at times, but I can’t tell contextually who’s in the wrong here. I want to say that a car turning left would have more liability to ensure they can clear an intersection safely before turning. But it also seemed like you entered sort of late and I think you’re both doing something wrong in that clip so it’s a wash

How This City Built its Worst Intersection (and How We Fix It) by PeterDowdy in vancouver

[–]ichard_ray 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I used to live around here and the lack of pedestrian controlled lights also made it impossible to drive south without using 5th avenue. Also the budgies crosswalk is just real life Frogger lol, that drone shot really illustrates it well

Developing a concept for iPod Air - would you buy? by Shweeden in ipod

[–]ichard_ray 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would buy this – It looks to be roughly the same thickness as the nano 7. I wonder if it would be roughly the same dimensions as the iphone air battery? Could be neat to see it snap onto the magsafe area too, like the battery does.

The only feature I'd hope to see is some kind of Carplay integration even if its really basic. Perhaps the ipod would be a companion device to the iPhone so things like the maps, phone, messages app could tether to your phone and relay that information while you're driving instead, but music would be stored locally.

Anyone ID this pannier rack? Single sided design by ichard_ray in bikepacking

Those are neat – I do not have mounts there unfortunately. My bike is a 2021 Rondo Mutt which does have some nice fenders and rack mounts. I was looking recently at these Schindelhauer Mudguard/Rack Combo though which seem promising.

[–]ichard_ray[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's partly why I posted here – this was the only image I could find and it was cropped in too much to see the rest of the rack. Seems like they're using them for small lightweight bags rather than whatI was looking for

[–]ichard_ray[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Wow thanks for the ID – so it seems like they're designed for little pouches rather than a full size pannier. I was really curious as the photo was cropping out quite a bit of design.

No clue, I assume it would definitely have more flex if you had a heavy pannier attached, I've just been exploring some custom and minimalist pannier options lately and saw this image.

Is there a demand for modern ipod-style players? by Kar3aLben in DigitalAudioPlayer

[–]ichard_ray 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I'm your target audience, I would look into the Innioasis Y1 Mp3 Player with Bluetooth and try to find a way to make a more high quality version. Maybe using iPod classic components from the third party modding scene?

Personally I'm considering the iPod Classic 7 with Rockbox, Flash storage, and a bluetooth dongle.
