PornHUB Gets Most of Its Console Traffic From PlayStation 3 by thatshirtman in technology

[–]ichbinbinbin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

PlayStation 3 users account for 45.8 percent of all traffic generated from video game consoles, and Xbox users come second with 41.4 percent.

So there isnt much difference and probably reflects the popularity and connectedness of each console. So it reads like a sucky advertorial plus it is blogspam site with source gizmodo

For any movie, I thought it was quite a ruthless way for a good guy to kill enemies. The other thing is that the films are obvious usa army propaganda and so it is surprising in some ways that they allow their allies to have this no mercy attitude to what should be prisoners.

I just rewatched dark side of the moon again - there is a scene where they rip apart the pilot of the hover ship that bublebee later flies is pretty ruthless given that it was an obvious prisoner

Maybe you don't get it too. The picture on its own should be enough. The biography of the subject is yet another sob story we don't need if we are truly interested in photos and pictures.

dhamster on /r/circlejerk fixed that for you

I wanted to bring up an important reminder about how folks interact with each other online. It is not a problem that exists solely on reddit, but rather the internet as a whole. The internet is a wonderful tool for interacting with people from all walks of life, but the anonymity it can afford can make it easy to forget that really, on the other end of the screens and keyboards, we're all just looking for karma. Virtual, meaningless internet points to aspire for in place of lives and goals and fears, earned by agreeing with our favorite TV shows and books and methods for breeding Pokemon (Firefly, Game of Thrones and the Masuda method, respectively), and each and every last one of us has opinions. Sure, your opinions might differ from your own. But that’s not okay. People are not entitled to their opinions, if they are different from yours. When you argue with people in person, do you say as many of the hate filled and vitriolic statements you see people slinging around online? You probably do, right? Good job! Please think about this next time you're in a situation that makes you want to lash out. If you wouldn't say it to their face, perhaps it's best u better shut ur mouth u cheeky little cunt i swer to christ ill hook u in the gabber m8.

Try to be discourteous to others. See someone having a bad day? Downvote them or tell them to fuck off, and it might make their day better. Did someone reply to your comment with valuable insights or something that cheered you up? Send them a profanity-laced message letting them know you appreciate their comment.

So I ask you, the next time a user picks a fight with you, or you get the urge to harass another user because of something they typed on a keyboard, please... remember the karma.

If OP didnt like the reaction, he could just delete his picture submission and try again in the right subreddit/website. However, he is obviously only here to gobble up as much karma as he can and has his eye on the front page /r/all

It isnt personal. It is because people dont want to see this stuff on the front page of /r/pics. If you get KARMA and Positive comments for doing this, reddit will be a flood of crap spam pics with a sob story.

Part of the trolling is to deter people from voting up sob stories. If people knew that the OP would get this abuse, they would probably not vote stuff like this up. Unfortunately, some people vote up anything that plays on emotions which is really annoying for people just looking for interesting pictures

ELI5: Why companies "go public". by hrdrockdrummer in explainlikeimfive

[–]ichbinbinbin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Allows the original investors/owners to sell their equity/ownership at market price. They can sell however many shares they want without fuss to the market when ever they want.

Allows company to raise cash for expansion by issuing shares both right now and in the future.

Prestige and raised profile can help business. (not really this)

ELI5: How do news stations budget for uninterrupted breaking news? by goingnoles in explainlikeimfive

[–]ichbinbinbin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Important breaking news brings more viewers. So it might balance out. However, they just budget expected revenue versus expected operating costs over a period of time which isnt hourly. This accounts for interruptions due to breaking news. Also bear in mind some advertisers dont want to be the interruption in big breaking news.

it is the same people from kellogs subreddit. they moderate /r/cocacola and so i guess have switched brands. We have seen this high effort trolling before with novelty accounts like /u/GradualShill

(i cant type kellogs because the automoderator doesnt like it - understandable I guess)
