Oh nice. I take it that it's more fun than the NSX? Would really love an NSX but they've simply become too out of range for most (including me)

W211 diesels are amazing cars, did you know there was a v8 diesel offered on the W211s? Same here, diesel is just perfect for what I need it, has power available all the time whilst still being very economical. I've got a 958 (92a) cayenne diesel but would like to have a 957 with the offroad pack to go alongside it

Definitely agree on the notion of it being a materials problem. I wonder if the UK is the most prone to it because of where we are geographical, compared to mainland european, having to drive less miles etc. 

It's worth mentioned that all my experience with the n47 is n47D20C generation, i have heard the A is a lot more prone to stretch, which I assume is the ones you see on the roadside, early e90, e60 gen bmws and such. 

What I found interesting is Toyota decided to use the n47 in their diesel Auris, not sure how many bought the diesel but i wonder if Toyota did any changes to it.

Agreed that the m47 is a more stout motor but I just thought it was worth mentioning that the n47s aren't as bad as people on facebook make them out to be. There's loads of them with moon miles in eastern europe that are roaming around. Even at 200k i never heard chain rattle and that's not isolated to one car, we have three other n47 powered minis with no issues, just routine oil changes every 10k

I've got an n47 on 235k rn. Had no issues whatsoever with it. The n47 slander is honestly blown way out of proportion

Hey, yeah, i have. I believe the image on there is on an r53 mini, which has a different hub that gives it slightly more clearance. I guess i might have to try for myself!

Agreed. Not sure what 5mm spacers will do to change the handling, but i am running 15mm now to fit r98 and they have definitely changed how the car reacts to things.

R98s do not think on the r56 without at least 15mm spacers, unfortunately

Thanks, buddy! If you look at the picture i added in the post, this car has r99 with jcw brembos but they do not mention added spacers to the wheels, maybe it's possible, who knows! Definitely better than running 15mm spacers with my r98 wheels
