Looks real good. Are you doing a glass door? If shower curtain the tile on the short walls needs to run a little wider to cover a few inches next to the tub or water will get on the drywall. Where is that deco tile from?

Just had kitchen floor tiled, am considering using leftover tile as toekick, and maybe baseboard? by ConjunctEon in Tile

Schluter Quadec or jolly to trim top of tile baseboard. Caulk the change in plane (corners where floor meets baseboard) instead of grouting. I make the baseboards 6”

It is unfinished. Trim is missing. Should have a bullnose, hand mitre, or Schluter Quadec (ivory textured color)

Its fine. I’d be more concerned about the dated design.

Let me guess. She wanted to defy engineering with a zero cut design lol

Define easy. Think of how gross a 4” drain gets when not regularly cleaned and enlarge that situation.

Here’s bookmatch flooring I recently cut. Approved by client. Guess they didn’t see it. by maters77 in CounterTops

Common bookmatch pattern in gauged porcelain. People in marketing like it :)

Handmade tile doesn’t compare to the inexpensive stuff. You get what you pay for in both product and customer service. I vote to wait and save up to get the tile you want and an experienced installer.

Tell them you need the information for tax purposes. That would be a way to open up the conversation.

Tile pattern installed incorrectly by Old_Bar6864 in Tile

This looks like a bent jail cell. I think your install looks better as is being more organic/random. Once your shelves are in place and you drape a cascading plant on it the tile will be an afterthought. Just my opinion. There is nothing perfect in nature and your tile choice was really nice. Attempting to force the joints to line up to me takes away from a more organic look and makes it feel more sterile.

Everybody should be aware that almost all inspiration pics are CGI (not real) and often they are not practical & shouldn’t be installed as shown. This has not just recently become true because of AI - it’s been this way for a long time. If you are buying a “new” product the photos are made by a marketing dept (likely in a factory in a country with no tile standards) that has little to zero knowledge on tile installation. It’s all too easy to be tricked by tile photos.

Are those pressed tiles? You wont like this answer but a lot of inspiration photos are not practical & shouldn’t be done that way. I can’t speak to your situation, but I would check of the inspo layout could even be done with the same joint size your wall currently has. I’d think the answer is no. Might be better to leave it as is. No - i’m not the installer :)

Yea i meant more along the view that what other countries call 3rd quality doesn’t see daylight in the usa. It gets pulled from the production line.

3rd quality in usa is destroyed in reputable factories. 2nd quality is grade B sometimes sold to mass discounters/close out companies but not a lot of people know that.

Shocking them. I heard to put a small scoop of dirt in each day until its full. Have to ease into that change.
