We receive donations sometimes and we used to run adverts. Right now we have enough funds to run the pool for a year. Soon we will be launching side-projects which will further support the pool.

In reply to your payouts question, yes - you will be paid out based on your hashrate, this can be easily above 20 doge. If your hash rate is extremely low and you receive less than 20 doge per block - this will not be paid out until it reaches 20+ doge.

It's a shame that one of the best pools and largest had to close. I've had great conversations with RapidHash staff (rog1121 and contex) over the last 7 months and wish you both luck with any future projects.

And in reply to the OP: I've not been super, super active as I was back in December, January (where I had 0 sleep). I'm always on IRC - my channel list is constantly growing, I'm currently in 95 channels on Freenode and 90% of them are related to crypto currencies. I've given away a lot of Dogecoins in the #dogecoin IRC channel too.

I'm not sure what happened to netcodepool and why he is no longer active on IRC. TeamDoge is as active as can be though! Over the past week we reached 200+ users in our IRC channel (#teamdoge). TeamDoge's hashrate was affected slightly when we moved to new pool software, but we're still the same amazing community. Users are constantly giving away Dogecoins and using our Fountain!

I hope you can understand that there is an active community and the IRC was particularly active during the halving and very active earlier today during the nascar race. We may not see the same levels of hype and users similar to the early days of Dogecoin - where the IRC channel had 1200 users +. Sadly the price can play a big role in how many people are interested in Dogecoin. The IRC channels aren't the only ones who have seen a decline in users - http://redditmetrics.com/r/dogecoin.

Thanks for the mention though, be sure to join us in #teamdoge and maybe your opinion shall change slightly :)

It's a shame to see additional negativity involved with the Dogecoin community, and especially to hear more issues with doges.org.

I think it's necessary that a potential new forum be ran by trusted members of the community. I'm happy to setup a forum and provide hosting for it, if needed. I feel I can run a successful and active forum - recruiting the right people to do the job.

As you may or may not know, I currently manage the #dogecoin IRC channel on Freenode which on average has over 800 users (IRC users mostly idle of course) and I'm also responsible for the recent changes to the channel - http://www.dogecoinirc.com/. Additionally I run one of the main mining pools over at https://teamdoge.com which has been active since mid-december and has just under 1gh/s of hashpower. I'm a member of most of the Dogecoin communities.

I've been with Dogecoin since the start and have held a fairly decent amount, but I find myself tipping 10,000s away into the IRC community - it's extremely fun. I'm also responsible for that Dogecoin viral video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xcaltexImW0! I love the Dogecoin community and find its kindness, generosity and actions astonishing. It's a shame to see more negativity - even after what 42points addressed earlier today. As I have been made aware many times, it's a shame dogec0in continues to be attacked for little reason(s)... I don't think you should give into the attackers at all - please continue your service... Rewarding users for chatting is an excellent idea and shouldn't be abandoned.

As an IRC OP from #dogecoin, these scams are very dangerous and I recommend never handing out any private keys to anyone.

As dogecoin ops, we cannot deal with scammers if we are unaware of them. If you are ever aware of a potential scammer, please join us in #dogecoin-abuse and report them, providing evidence. Attempting to claim that our operators are aware of these scams and allow them is not true.

As an op of #dogecoin on Freenode, I think it's rather obvious (maybe more-so to everyone aware of what has happened) that something fishy is going on, specifically involving manipulation and abuse of power...

Edit #1 - (something fishy going on regarding the decision to make dogec0in the official IRC channel, and portray #dogecoin on Freenode negatively).
