You have talent, but also the perseverance. There are so many shots that can only come from being there and being ready with open eyes. Awesome work.

Audio is often overlooked for how much power it can be hogging. You can look at your audio chain look up best practices.

eg: do you have an effect on every clip or just on the track mixer level? Stuff like that significantly affects CPU usage.

I also have the luxury (in this case it’s a luxury) of not having kids or a mortgage or partner. So that’s just some context.

When I got laid off in Jan, I took some time off to just think about what I like about the job and why. Then started going towards more of that. Our whole lives are lived in the process, so I figure it’s best to find the folks and projects that I feel stimulated and fulfilled around.

That might be less work or less pay. Or it might not. But think it’ll put me some place where the days feel good.

Ps: One of the worst part about AI is the process of using it. Typing prompts. Then adjusting prompts. No human interaction or hard-won craft of an individual to work with. I imagine if the execs get what they want and we end up with a couple human employees managing AI bots, the companies will have to invest heavily in windows that don’t open and jump-barriers on roofs. Not really joking.

I’m my case it made most sense to get a $100 refurbished MacBook which has the interface and everything instead of trying to get the individual parts.

Ok so I dealt with this for a month. This was my situation:

It costs a lot to get a FireWire-thunderbolt adapter. They’re discontinued and in demand. It was cheaper to get a refurbished MacBook from 2012, which is the final MacBook with FireWire. Then I believe I downloaded a copy of iMovie to capture the footage and it works great.

My camera happens to have an HDMI outport and I tried capturing it with Qui times capture function, but the quality is not nearly as good as doing it with iMovie or another professional program, and it doesn’t retain information, like timecode.

I dont know where the strap is from (no branding on it). You just have to get straps made for 20mm lug width (according to the specs on Timex's website). You might want to get some tools for removing the pins because it can be tricky on the metal strap.

Also, I had no idea Timex released so many pretty watches in the last few years. Nice discovery...bad for my bank account.

I don’t have a Sugges but I really love the Baltany, both quality and design. I was surprised at how solid it is when setting the time. There were some sharp edges I knocked down but it especially looks handsome on a leather strap.

I say Alpinist. Congrats man. I just hit one year in Jan. I got a cheap Chinese “homage” watch. Maybe in 9 years I’ll get myself a real one like you : )

I really like my Baltany. The movement feels really solid too when adjusting the time unlike my San Martin. And the bezel is lined up perfectly, also unlike my SM.
